Drake 10 seed in the #1 UConn side of the bracket...
Sorry Trees.

The MVC now has the highest RPI ever to not get selected, as well as the highest NET to not be selected.
Indiana State got really bad bubble luck this week. Losing to Illinois State at home really sunk them too.

They specifically showed the QUAD 4 loss at home on their resume. Didn't look good. I also believe the bottom portion of the conference NEEDS to get better, and the entire league needs to get better in out of conference (THIS MEANS YOU NORTHERN IOWA !!!!!!!!!)

The difference being Indiana State this year actually deserved it.
Missouri States resume was ridiculously bad and was little more than smoke and mirrors.

RPI was used as the guideline for selection then, and NET now. Regardless, the two biggest snubs in each system belong to the MVC.

I am aware. But Missouri State having an RPI that high did little more than show how flawed that system was.
4-8 against RPI top 50. 11 of those 12 games came in conference play.
1-4 against RPI top 50 in conference play on the road.
0-1 against RPI top 50 OOC.
Lost in first round of MVC tournament in a blowout.
Only played 2 RPI top 100 teams in non conference.
Their resume was absolute garbage and all parroting the false narrative that they were screwed does is prop up Hinson and his tired used car salesman act.
Iowa State cannot be happy about possibly playing Drake in round two. Scared to schedule them in the regular season. Reminds me of Illinois choking and losing to Virginia Tech when we had a chance to play them in the tourney.
All due respect, Iowa St could have arguably been a one seed, and despite getting a bad draw having both Illinois AND the best team in the country in their side of the bracket, I'm not sure they're upset or afraid to play Drake (even if they have won 10 of 11).

Iowa State is very good. I just know that there’s no way they are excited about playing mid major little brother if it happens. It’s a lose-lose.
28 wins let that sink in. You can give any excuse for the committee you want. Bottom line is they only care about the power 5 conferences. If I was Scherzer I would bolt as to not have this happen again.

Yep! I thought the MVC was pretty tough this year and certainly deserved two teams.
Mountain West gets 6? Crazy! 3rd place Bradley beat their conference champ.
9th place Missouri wins at St. Marys!

No doubt there is a Power 5 bias, but that hasn't changed all that much in 20 years, as there has ALWAYS been. That being said, the Mountain West is a Mid Major conference and they got 6 teams in. They both have really good teams and know how to schedule. It has surely taken time for them to elevate the conference, but they have done it.

thanks for backing up the committee. That is what we need in the Valley.
The Valley could fix this issue by:
1. Going to a 16 game conference schedule. Playing 20 games in conference is a hindrance to the league not a boon.
2. Schedule more H/H with good mid majors. If you have to start on the road so be it.
3. Do more buy games and 2-1 with P5 schools.
4. Stop scheduling non D1 schools. There should never be a non-D1 on the schedule. It is inexcusable.
When the conference was a consistently multi bid league the league mandated pretty strict scheduling guidelines. The league slowly started loosening those and now we have a league full of programs content to schedule as easy as possible to pad W/L records.

The injury to Hickman hurt not only Bradley, likely sitting out the post season unless multiple teams turn down the NIT, but it hurt the Valley overall. They started out the season like gangbusters but then lost 5 in a row. Outside of those 5, their only bad loss was to Evansville.
