Okay, they're going down, but a good showing.
(Inflammatory political snark)
Valpo absolutely gets destroyed in the second half 49-19 and loses by 23

Well that sucks! Would’ve been huge for The Valley and Valpo! Damn!
How about Evansville?
Is Evansville better than Belmont? Kind of joking… kind of not…
Watching UNI play @ South Florida, who is ranked, coincidentally right next to SIU in the Kenpom (solely for reference). They are tied 17 with 8 minutes to go in the first half, but simply do not look that good. They are taking 3 after 3 (many open) and not making them. Their defense does not look that good either. There is still a LOT of time left in this game and they may win it but for the games I have watched them play, as noted previously, I simply don't see where they are in the same class as Drake or Bradley. In fact, from what I've seen so far, it wouldn't shock me if SIU beat them.

If those open 3’s fall, they look pretty good. Funny how that always works. They can’t hit the broad side of a barn right now.
Bowen Born has given UNI nothing this year
UNI is currently 3 - 16 from 3pt range.
Every year UNI takes a big dump in the non conference season only to play lights out during conference and hurting everyone's NET in the process. The purple kitties suck!
UNI gets dominated on the road against a bottom tier team in the AAC. Looking at their near term schedule, they face North Carolina and 2 other teams in the Battle For Atlantis where they will be big underdogs. It's likely they will be 1-5 before they play Belmont in conference play. It is not impossible that they start 1-9 in their first 10 games now that Evansville seems to be playing better than I thought they would. I've always been a fan of Jacobsen but did not agree with the preseason predictions having them at 2nd, especially after last year. Unfortunately, as RESaluki 88 noted, they'll likely find themselves just in time to crush the hopes of certain Valley teams once the meat of conference play starts.
1-2 for the Valley today. Drake gets blown out against a good Stephen F. Austin team.
Illinois State gets a pretty big win against a decent Long Beach State team, Dalton Banks led scorers with 15.
Murray State loses in OT to a good UNC Wilmington team.
Missouri State and Bradley get good opportunities tonight.
Missouri St winning by 10 with 9 minutes left but it's not over. They're being led by NJ Benson, who would have looked very good in an SIU Jersey.
Missouri State looks really good and is super athletic. Clay, Benson, Moore and Mason will be a handful. They look like a top 4 MVC team and could definitely compete for the top.
Bradley up 4 at the half on Tulane, no stats on ESPN right now
