That's a pretty weak non con. Paradise Jam only has one big conference team in it K. State. If they don't end up playing K State SLU is probably the best team on their schedule.

Games at SLU, who will be very good, and at Ohio will be tough.

SLU has 2 of their better players back + Indiana St + Scherz.

Murray is going to do a major renovation of their basketball arena - 8 figures. Wonder where they will play home games while that's going on?

@mr_woogers Most of the reno will take place outside the season, from what I've heard.  Racer Arena, their previous stadium, is a slightly possible (no A/C) backup. They played an exhibition game there last November that drew over 5,500.

SIU ranked 7th in the official Valley preseason poll, released today. The top four was Bradley, UNI, Murray and Illinois State.

The Salukis have the pieces and the coaching to be better than 7th, maybe much better.

Given the turmoil in the Valley the top four make sense (those teams brought the most back from last year). After that it’s a guessing game, trying to figure out which teams can gel the fastest with the new roster.

I don’t know why Drake is at 6, I wasn’t super impressed with their transfer class/roster, but I guess people like their coach. Maybe predicting a Schertz 2.0. Probably the most difficult preseason poll for voters in a long time. Excited to see how this all shakes out.

Did UNI have a good transfer class? Cuz they got hit hard by the black hole of the portal!

Pretty good. Leon Bond from Virginia is a likely starter on the wing, they added Ben Schwieger from Loyola and I think they brought in a couple of promising non-D1 transfers, too.

And despite losing Born and Heise, they return Hutson (probably best post in the league), Anderson, Campbell and a couple other role guys.

I get why they’re picked high in a year without many established teams.

UIC being picked last is wild to me.  That’s a really good roster

The St. Ambrose Fighting Bees are tough, but don't tell Spike that. 😀

@salukiworld

If the Florida MTE is canceled, I wouldn't doubt if we also ended up with at least one more Div 2 or NAIA teams.

Hopefully we’d sign some contracts with the other teams in this event since we know they’d have openings as well.
