AJ Green to the Bucks on a two way contract.
Jake LaRavia went #19 overall last night. If you would have told me he’d be a top 20 pick two years ago when he was at Indiana State, I’d think you were crazy.
Completely agree; I mean, he was an impressive freshman big at Indy, but to go from that to the 19th overall pick in the NBA Draft is quite the jump - really happy for him. Liam Robbins would have been a similar name I would have picked well ahead of Jake, but I got see him play this year with Wake Forest and he's really evolved into an impressive player.

He was no slouch at Indiana State!

Spoiler alert: Saluki recruiting class ranked third out of 12 behind the two MSUs. To be taken with the proverbial grain of salt, needless to say.

This guy mentions Terrance Jacobs Jr. our presumed preferred walk-on, but doesn't mention Xavier Johnson and AJ Ferguson. Not sure how informed he is, but 3rd isn't bad.
This opens the door to all kinds of potentially innovative marketing and fundraising ideas. I wonder if some schools would go as far as to consider budget cuts in other areas to help bolster their coffers for the wild, wild west of the NIL age in college athletics.
However SIU decides to proceed, they'll have to be fast and decisive, or they'll quickly be left in the dust.

The athletic department needs to get up to speed on this NIL crap before they get left behind
@jabman62 Alumni and fans of the program are going to have to open their wallets and donate, if SIU has any hope of getting into the mix with this NIL BS. The Missouri Valley and other mid-majors should start looking into schools in the BIG MONEY conferences that can't keep up with NIL payouts with those schools in those conferences that have indefinite financial bandwidth. That divide will come as well. Anyone think u of I can pay as much as Michigan or Ohio State for players, consistently? I don't. If anyone feels the NCAA would attempt to regulate payouts.....that's just laughable.
Yes absolutely. Not only does SIU need to put something together quickly to keep up in this new age, hopefully they're already hard at work on something viable, innovative and attractive.
Other Valley schools have already made inroads, and obviously our instate competitors within the conference have already announced NIL programs. So, the closer we get to the season without an announced plan of our own, the more worrisome it becomes for the future of SIU athletics, IMO.

It’s been hard to follow the prolonged interim AD situation and what exactly is going on there but this NIL scenario seems like an example where it would be helpful to have a permanent AD in place.
NIL. Where does it end? Think about it.

That is a big get for the hated ISU. Illinois, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Butler and Depaul all had offered. Also interesting considering this kids home and school is closer to Champaign than Bloomington!
Good get for Bradley, we should be dipping into the MAC for home and homes
