Do we still use NET? Main thing is we need to beat Bradley at least once, preferably twice of course.
Yes, the NET is still the "official" stat that the NCAA uses in picking teams for the tournment. The old RPI went away a few year ago.

I know we use NET for that. I was asking if the MVC still uses NET in the tie breaking process.
The tiebreak procedures have not been updated since they started using NET... so without an update maybe they still are. I thought I read somewhere they weren't but I may have been mistaken.Do we still use NET? Main thing is we need to beat Bradley at least once, preferably twice of course.

Did some reading on this.
In a 2 team tie:
Head to head
Record against common opponents
Record against top team
NET
In a 3 (or more) way tie:
Round robin record of tied teams
Common opponents
Top teams
NET
Basically what I’m taking away from this… If we have any ties with anyone, weather it’s 1 or more teams, we want Belmont to be in that tie since we are 1-0 and won’t play again. Say we have a 3 way tie with SIU, Bradley, Belmont (assume SIU and Belmont splits with Bradley), we would come away beat in the tiebreaker because we’d be 2-1 against those two teams. Granted, I’m making a lot of assumptions.
This equation is much easier if we just win.
I still think it's way too early in conference to be trying to figure out who finishes where, especially considering we're not even halfway through. With their well noted offensive struggles, they could go into a slump at some point. That being said, here's something to ponder..............
JD has played in just over 10 games and several of those he played sparingly, trying to get back into game shape. Ebube has essentially played in just 4 games since his return, and made an impact in several of those. Name another team that has added 2 quality big men (each with their own strengths and challenges) with expectations that each are going to get even better as the season goes on? An argument can be made that SIU has the most room to improve and that doesn't even take into account this team is shooting at a level significantly below where they can, and have in the past.
Saturdays game is going to be rough, but that does NOT take away from the fact that SIU can easily be a much better team in 8 weeks.
It seems that Missouri State is expecting their best crowd of the year for this one. Indiana State brought in their best crowd in years I believe when SIU went there. Seems like everyone is loading up to try to beat us. Funny thing is, neither one will hit our 2 best home crowd we’ve had this season. We need to win this one and keep momentum going.
Another note on crowds… our endzone section is nearly sold out for Murray already. Anyone have any details on why?

Reis said after the ISUred game that the Murray game is "Ag Night" and the Agriculture Dept. has a bunch of high school kids in town then on recruiting trips so that would be some of it.

This is correct. They've reportedly got some 800 kids coming to the game after a day visiting on campus. Should be a great crowd.

Should see some good crowds the rest of the season then. I’m circling that Bradley game on Sunday, Feb 19th. If that means something, it might be the best crowd in a long time.

Of the five remaining home games, I could see 4/5 being pretty large crowds: a rivalry game with Murray (plus ag night), weekend games with Missouri State and Bradley, and senior night with UNI. The only somewhat eh remaining home date is a midweek game with UIC, but if Southern stays hot, even that one could draw pretty well.

and as of this moment both 69 and I will be there. Pre game should be interesting 😊
Precisely the point I made in another thread. I'm pretty sure Belmont winning would be better. Yeah, it would be nice to have first place alone but SIU has the tiebreaker and I generally think Bradley is a much better team.
