No idea what’s Mast’s problem tonight at the line. He’s 1-7 and it’s killed Bradley.
Bradley-Illinois State going to OT tied at 69
Bradley win 79-75. Illinois State players were cramping throughout the end of the game, hopefully it affects them on Sunday.
New Hacksaw chart has SIU in 1st now:
Looks like 4 more wins should get us into the top 4... Of course the goal is much loftier than that, but in a good spot for seeding in STL.New Hacksaw chart has SIU in 1st now:
If UNI ends up finishing in the top 3 or 4 I have to imagine Ben Jacobson takes home COY honors
Missouri State and Murray State tied at 33 in the 1st
Indiana State up 4 on Northern Iowa
@salukiworld UNI and MOST both go down. Some breathing room in the standings!
Avila is dominating Drake in the 2nd half and has 21pts so far. I cannot believe that SIU chose not to have him here.
Would he be getting major minutes as a freshman here? Dunno. His style of play might also fit better with the Sycs. He’s been really impressive, though. Heartbreaking way to lose five straight for them with the Wilkins bomb.
He's a starter on a team that not only beat us but is only 2 wins out of the Valley lead. He just played a critical role in beating the only team that beat us by double digits in conference play (Northern Iowa). I've also watched him play 5+ games now and he also passes the eye test. So while impossible to prove, I would say yes, he would not only make us a better team, he would play an important role.
Kenny White Jr was back on the floor for the Racers and scored 9 points for them
gotta love the thugsKenny White Jr was back on the floor for the Racers and scored 9 points for them
yeah there is nothing i like about murray and their coach is a loser, didnt even bother to give the couple kids a high five on his way off the court that were right by his exit, maybe he was looking for a ref to follow

To clarify, I was coming at it more from the perspective of Mullins’ inclination to play more experienced guys over freshmen as opposed to minimizing Avila’s ability, as well as Mullins’ defense-first mindset.
As you said, it’s a hypothetical that can’t be proven, but I doubt he’d be getting the same minutes here.

He started every game of their 5 game MVC losing streak. He is a very good fit for In St.
I think Avila fits a lot better on an up-tempo team like Indiana State as opposed to SIU. Think with a year in a college weight-room, Hornecker will make big strides heading into next year.
