We have the tiebreak over both individually and in a 3 way tie. Win and we are the 3 seed.We do not have the tiebreaker against Indiana State. We finished 1-1 against them and they have a better NET. so if SIU and Indiana State win and Belmont loses SIU has 4th seed. We do have the round robin tiebreaker between the 3 teams so if SIU, Indiana State and Belmont all win or all lose we finish 3rd. If we finish only tied with Belmont we have the tiebreaker against them because we beat them in the only game we played them this year.Hackman has SIU with a 72% chance of finishing 3rd now

Also SIU will have the tiebreaker against Indiana State so all SIU needs to do is win and they're the 3 seed:

Not hard to see why it's been confusing leading up to this point, but i think it's pretty clear at this point that we end up as either 3 or 4 seed. No worry about Thursdays guys.
If we lose Sunday we will be the 5 seed very likely. ISU will likely beat MSU at home and if Born does not play Belmont will beat UNI without issue... However, whoever ends up in the 5 spot shouldn't stress too much, its a 2:30 date with Evansville in a warm up game before Friday...Not hard to see why it's been confusing leading up to this point, but i think it's pretty clear at this point that we end up as either 3 or 4 seed. If Born doesn’t play on Sunday, I think the Trees and Belmont are both going to win. UIC is going to be a tough road game for SIU that I think is far from a sure win.
If his chart is correct, I think you are right. That contradicts the MVC website that says the 2nd tiebreaker is the NET. According to his chart if we win we finish 3rd no matter what. We are 4th if only Belmont wins or only Indy State wins. The only way we finish 5th is for Belmont and Indy State to both win and for us to lose.We do not have the tiebreaker against Indiana State. I think the tiebreaker before NET for a two way tie is going from top to bottom in the standings and comparing the records until someone has a better record against a like opponent. So SIU and Indiana State both went 1-1 against Drake and 0-2 against Bradley. The next team in line would be Belmont and SIU went 1-0 against them and Indiana State went 0-1.
So in 8 out of 64 scenarios we finish 5th. In 16 out of 64 scenarios we finish 4th and in 40 out of 64 scenarios we finish 3rd.
Would have been nice to have our seed settled by now. But it really doesn’t matter as long as no Thursday.
New format kinda sucks IMO, as now only 4 teams can win the tournament.
5-8 being on Thursday is going to leave some quality teams with ZERO chance to win the event.

They’re the ones that can get us where we haven’t been in 15 years.
Yes, still stress because the affect of playing the extra game is huge. Very hard to win 4 games and the teams that play on Thursday will be tired in the 2nd half of Fridays games, let alone if they make it to Saturday! If we lose Sunday we will be the 5 seed very likely. There are positives and negatives with finishing 3rd. The positives include playing the last game on Friday nigh which gives folks coming from work or coming up from southern Illinois a chance to get to the game, giving us a bigger crowd. The negatives include the quicker turnaround, with less rest due to playing the last game each day Friday and Saturday and having less rest than your opponents on Saturday and (hopefully) Sunday.
I mean, I could make the argument that the 5 seed might have a slight advantage having played a game in the arena before the 4 seed. Thursday this year is very different from years past. Full day to recover between games too.Yes, still stress because the affect of playing the extra game is huge. I wouldn't be shocked if we see a Thursday team win the whole thing in the next few years. Probably not this season because the league is so top-heavy with Drake and Bradley but in a more balanced league, I think a team will make the run. We've had strong 5 and 6 seeds in years past.

I'd say whichever of SIU-Belmont-Indiana State finishes as the 5 seed will actually be a pretty solid 5. Still very tough to win four straight, though ... need great conditioning and a great bench.
i suppose it would be possible for siu to play uic to end the season and start the tournament
@salukimodemrowe Wouldn't that be interesting...lol! I don't expect an easy game in Chicago, but the Salukis are capable of winning, that's for sure.
Last day of Missouri Valley games:
Belmont @ Northern Iowa 11:30 AM CBS Sports Network (Belmont favored by 2)
Missouri State @ Indiana State 1:00 PM ESPN+ (Indiana State favored by 7.5)
Evansville @ Illinois State 2:00 PM ESPN+ (Illinois State favored by 10)
Valparaiso @ Murray State 3:00 PM ESPN+ (Murray State favored by 5.5)
Drake @ Bradley 3:00 PM ESPN2 (Bradley favored by 3)
Surprised to see Bradley favored; Drake beat Bradley earlier by what, like 25 points?
