Can’t do any worse
How did a school like Valparaiso get invited to the Valley to begin with?
When the Drew family coached there they were very competitive and even pulled an upset or two in the big dance so it has the possibility of returning to prominence with the right hire after all we haven't exactly been a power house since 2007
Maybe they'll hire one of our assistants, and in turn we'll hire an experienced offensive guru as an assistant replacement. One can only dream...
Indeed. In fact, while some ask how Valpo got into our conference, until we beat them this season, we were .500 against them and still ONLY hold a 6-5 record since they joined.

That may be true, but I'm pretty sure they are not competitive in most other sports with the exception of women's soccer. Their men's basketball has had one season in which they finished at 9 - 9. All other seasons are below .500. Baseball, softball, etc they have been just awful.
They're in the MVC because #1) the MVC presidents wanted to keep a balance of private and public universities (stupid reason IMO), and #2) they once had a few decent basketball teams.
They need to put some money into athletics or get out.
Interested to see who Valpo hires. That's not a great job

Blount makes sense but what is Knight's connection to Valpo? He's an east coast guy

Makes sense, thank you. You can rebuild very quickly in portal era so if they get the right guy you never know
Some teams can and have. Some teams have lost multiple key players and still finished at, or near, the top of their respective conferences. It's just unfortunate that we are not one of those teams.
On a related note, let's just get the ball rolling on the transfer announcements already. If we're going to lose players, and the odds are we will lose at least one, then lets get on with it so the staff can replace them with UPGRADED players.

Not sure about contracts - a lot of other sports are available on ESPN+.
Do baseball, softball, golf make money by getting to the NCAA? No idea.
I do know being awful in minor sports doesn't help the MVC's rep. And their basketball so far has been crap - no season over .500 in conference.
Evansville has been even worse. 2022: 1 - 18, 2021: 2 - 16, 2019: 0 - 18.
