How does Ford continue to get these high level recruits yet have huge roster turnover and yet to win a Valley title?
Decent individual recruits do not necessarily make up a good TEAM. That being said, it sure would be nice to have a single spring recruit at this point. If we don't have any by NEXT Friday, you can add me to the very concerned list.
The fact that it’s May 1st and we don’t have a single commit after losing our two best players where you’d think it’d be pretty wide open for someone to come in, assert themselves and become a leader on this team is very telling.
It’s not a good look right now and frankly it’s embarrassing.
If it takes much longer to land someone of note, we’re going to start looking desperate … if we’re not coming off that way already.

The staff has been pretty bad with the portal since they've been here. I'm not sure what they're doing but things need to be fixed. Ironically the first season Mullins was here was easily their best offseason. I don't know if teams are using the lack of offense against SIU and Mullins in recruiting or what's going on but SIU had a lot to sell with 23 wins and a lot of playing time and possessions.
@salukiworld We have a lot to sell with little results. It must be the salesmen. Hopefully, Howard is that recruiter that can sell snow to an eskimo.
MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY - oh wait, I'm a day late I guess!.
Not too early to be nervous, too early to panic.
@salukiworld Harlan Franquois, dude from Clemson who never played, Karrington Davis, Trent Brown, lost Aaron Cook... They added a lot of pieces that year but the only good ones were Domask and Benson (also Lance holdover commit from Hinson)... It was only his "best" because he had to build an entirely new team. Now you are looking for specific holes to fill. This team has plenty to build around, they are looking for a few specific pieces for next year and maybe 2/3 to develop like AJ was last year.
hope we get good recruits and soon, otherwise you guys are stuck with me when i go there and walk on...wont be good
Sure looks like Missouri State is out the door as soon as 2024:

MSU has money, that's for sure. It wouldn't surprise me.
I'd be curious how SIU's AD revenue/expenses compare.
I can see a big fish in a little pond (Wichita St., Creighton, and to and extent Loyola) would want to and do move on. But a little fish in a little pond?????

to never be heard from again.

They're not even heard from now unless you’re in their conference. There isn’t another school in the Valley that does less with more.
my useless robot friend Chatgpt:
As an AI language model, I do not have access to information about future events, including the outcome of sporting events such as the MVC men's basketball tournament. The winner of the tournament will depend on many factors, including the performance of each team throughout the season, injuries, and other variables that are difficult to predict.
Additionally, predicting the outcome of a sporting event is inherently uncertain, as there are many variables that can affect the final result. Therefore, it is impossible for me to accurately predict who will win the MVC men's basketball tournament next year.
