I believe Drake is still in at-large territory, but they probably have to get to the championship game and lose to Loyola. It would be awesome if Missouri State won it all; I doubt Drake gets in, but it would be pretty neat to sneak 3 in to the tourney.
I’m not feeling great about Drake’s at-large chances in this power conference-centric landscape. The committee looks for every excuse to deny bids to non-power leagues, and the late losses to Valpo and Bradley offered up an excuse.
I’d love to be wrong (or to see Drake win the tournament).
I think if Drake beat MSU and loses a competitive game to Loyola it will be a toss up as to whether they get an at large bid or not. If they lose to the Bears they are out. If they do lose in the championship it will probably come down to how many upsets there are in conference tournaments. If BCS teams on the bubble or outside the bubble make runs in their conference tournaments they will take bids from bubble at larges like Drake.

I think Mo State bears them today myself
How long until Lansing is canned ?
@barkeep-1967 Mullins has won as many arch madness games as Lansing from 2016-2021 lol
Up until now it’s been a lousy tournament, but that was a great and competitive half between Drake and Missouri State. Sturtz on Drake is such an overachiever.

Fantastic game and huge W for Drake.
Great game and big win by Drake! Hopefully this win gets them in the ncaa tournament, because it will be a very tough task beating Loyola tomorrow without Penn and Hemphill. A Drake win tomorrow might be best for the mvc, because as of right now most of the so called "experts" have Loyola as an 8 or 9 seed. 8 & 9 are horrible seeds you want to make a run because the winner of 8/9 game has to play a #1 seed in 2nd round. If Drake wins maybe Loyola drops to an 11 seed, which is a much better draw if you want to make a run. If Drake wins the tourney they are probably an 11 seed. If Drake loses and still gets an at large bid they should be a 12 seed. I do think it's about 50/50 shot for Drake to get an at large at this point and will depend on how the rest of the conference tournaments shake out.
That was a great game and good for the league. I was glad to see Drake come through with the win after all they have been through recently. I think tomorrow's game should be a real good one and think both of them will end up now in the tournament, at least I hope so. They both deserve it.
The Drake has really had poor luck and I’m impressed with how they’ve been able to hold it together, considering. COVID outbreak and then your best player and your point guard with big injuries. Younger teams may have folded like a cheap tent, who knows..
Making it to the championship game, the Drake should be in. I would rather have them win it all, however, to be better safe than sorry...plus, as was said earlier, Loyola may fall out of a second-round 1 seed matchup.
because the winner of 8/9 game has to play a #1 seed in 2nd round.
