This is not shaping up to be a good day for the Missouri Valley.  Northern Iowa is in big danger against Nicholls.  AJ Green is 0-12!

One positive, Indiana State is looking good at Green Bay

SEMO beats Missouri State 99-94, they're going to be a dangerous team when they come to the Arena.

Nicholls beats Northern Iowa 62-58.

Illinois State beats UNC Wilmington 68-63 at home

Bradley is down 18 at South Dakota State

Not a great night for the Valley

There was talk of a 3-bid Valley this year...at this rate we'll be lucky to get two teams in...misery loves company I suppose.

Wow, all on the same night MSU, UNI and SIU collectively say to the college basketball world; the MVC is a two horse race.

Interesting lines from box scores:
AJ Green (UNI) 1-14, 4 points vs Nicholls

Gaige Prim (MSU) 28 points, 15 rebounds vs SEMO

Kailex Stephens (ISU Blue) 16 points, 13 rebounds @ Green Bay

Indiana State played just 8 players and Cooper Neese played 39 minutes

Antonio Reeves (ISU Red) 9-15, 29 points vs UNC Wilmington

Saint Thomas (Loyola) 5-7, 13 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists in his collegiate debut vs Coppin State

Tucker Devries (Drake) 4-10, 14 points, 6 rebounds in his collegiate debut vs Coe College

Brad Korn gettin it done at SEMO! Shocker!

Nicholls won the Sun Belt last year - they're good, UNI over rated.

Indiana St beats Green Bay.

Belmont loses to Ohio by 12.

Loyola may run away with the MVC!

Indiana State's win was impressive.  No Tyreke Key and a brand new coach and they beat a team on the road 14 KenPom spots below Little Rock.

That D2 coach they hired knows what he's doing. Impressive record in D2. If he can recruit at this level, Sycs will be a force in the MVC next few years.

I was admittedly on that 3-bid hopewagon, but after watching last nights games, it looks to be a 2 team max and with the rest of the league struggling, I'm not sure they'll even get 2 teams in if things don't fall the right way in the Conf tournament.  Missouri State has all that talent but it's a group of individuals instead of a team.  If Mullins had that talent, I'd bet they'd finish top 2/3 in the MVC.  UNI will finish ahead of Missouri State as they lost due to Green having an off night.

Missouri Valley Conference Games for Thursday, November 11th:

#106 Vermont @ #128 Northern Iowa 5:00 PM ESPN+ (UNI favored by 6)

Northern Iowa looks to bounce back after their loss to Nicholls but get another tough opponent in Vermont.  This is Vermont's first game of the season and they were picked a close 2nd behind Stony Brook in the American East.

#331 IUPUI @ #186 Evansville 6:00 PM ESPN3 (Evansville favored by 11)

The Purple Aces get an easier test coming off their loss at Cincinnati in an IUPUI team that lost by just 9 at Butler.  IUPUI was picked to finish a distant last place in the Horizon League.

Watching the game and while they have closed the gap and may even ultimtely win this game, they just don't look nearly as good as they did 2 years ago.  It's quite odd !!!!
