I didn't realize the American East Player of the Year from last year was sick and isn't playing in this for Vermont. Ryan Davis is literally in a hotel room watching and UNI is still getting punked at home. And they underachieved last year in non-con before Green went out.

AJ Green's defense wasn't great before and seems to have taken a noticeable hit so far this year. I don't see how he's going to be able to guard some of the better guards in the league. I was surprised people picked him over Prim in the preseason polls.
I don't see how UNI comes out of this stretch better than 2-5. Arkansas, St Bonaventure, and Richmond are all likely losses and I wouldn't even consider at Bradley a sure win.
With Missouri State and UNI failing to come out on top in winnable games, it's looking like the MVC will only get 1 or 2 teams in the dance. I was really hoping the conference would show better and move into the top 8 conferences. Bummer for the Valley. This is exactly why I shrug when I read people dismissing team A or B from joining the Valley as if this is an elite conference.

Vermont is a very very good team. But yeah, without Davis, Northern Iowa needs to win. Not a good start for them
Evansville with a nice comfortable 60-40 win over IUPUI despite losing Noah Frederking early with an injury. Shamar Givance with 16 points and 8 rebounds.

Matt Painter had no intentions on staying and C-LO had no REAL credentials to be the head coach. Bruce Weber was the one who made this program truly relevant and I still miss him and those teams to this day. Mullins is a great guy and being a Grad makes him loveable but no recent teams can hold a candle to the teams Weber put together.
