Loyola sitting at 30 in KenPom with Drake at 58 and now Missouri State at 62. Sadly the Valley will likely drag everyone down a bit, but Loyola is still looking fine for at-large territory - but to the earlier post's comment they need to take care of the few opportunities they still have left.
Exactly what justifies Missouri State being ranked 52 by KenPom? While we are at it, I watched replay of UNI at St. Bonaventure, the Bonnies are one of the more underwhelming #16 teams I have seen. I don't put absolute faith in any of the ranking outfits.

KenPom is still heavy on preseason rankings and it tends to rewards blowouts and not punish you for close losses. Missouri State's 2 losses are by a combined 6 and their 4 wins are by a combined 90

You beat me to it, and you're spot on: they're still heavily reliant on preseason and data / assumptions from last year - it will normalize, but it should be a good indicator for what to expect on the NET rankings once those get published.

So when we smoke the Aces by 40 or so we will get a nice pop, eh?

Yeah but a close loss to a low ranked team knocks you down. The Alcorn State win knocked SIU down 12 spots to 144.
So you do get punished for close wins? Well crap!

Get rid of all of that ugly brown. Interesting that they left the crusader shield at midcourt and left the words on the wall.
Missouri Valley Conference games for Wednesday, December 1st:
Conference play begins for a game, here's the other games tomorrow with Valpo/Drake getting national TV coverage on Thursday:
#116 Northern Iowa @ #197 Bradley 7:00 PM ESPN+ (Northern Iowa favored by 1.5)
Northern Iowa comes off a big win against St. Bonaventure and visits a Bradley team coming off their first D-1 win of the year against Maine.
#62 Missouri State @ #239 Illinois State 7:00 PM ESPN+ (Missouri St favored by 7.5)
Missouri State heads to Normal to face a Redbirds team that's always tough at home. Illinois State is 3-1 at home this year with the only loss coming to Murray State
#183 Indiana State @ #30 Loyola Chicago 7:00 PM ESPN+ (Loyola Chicago favored by 18)
The most lopsided matchup of the week for the Valley. Loyola is huge favorites against the Sycamores.
Some surprises in the Valley so far tonight:
Missouri St (on road) only leading by 2 at the half to Ill St
Loyola (at home) only up 1pt to Indiana State at the half
Bradley (home) leading UNI by 11 at the half
Let's go Indiana State! Stick it to Loyola.
Stop the count!
Saluki Insider? I barely know her!
ISUred is up 5 over MoState with 15 seconds left.
ISUred over MoState 79-74 in OT
Bradley over UNI 71-69
Loyola leading ISUblue 81-72 with 2:30 left.
I'm watching bits and pieces of each game. As of today, and that is just today, I think SIU (if they play a good game) can beat Missouri St and UNI. If they play a complete game, which they haven't yet, they can hang with Loyola.
