ISUred over MoState 79-74 in OT
Bradley over UNI 71-69
Loyola leading ISUblue 81-72 with 2:30 left.
It's college basketball where anything can happen and having conference games 4 weeks earlier than normal make it even more likely for upsets. I also want to see them put two good halves together but we won on the road without Jones so I'm happy.
The MVC is mediocre. Enough games have been played now to validate it. It is what it is.
I still believe if SIU can get healthy and get its shit together, they can contend for a league title.

Looks like it is going to be a wild ride this year in the MVC.
Think there's enough of sample size to show that Dana Ford can't coach

No doubt!
Did it have to be fucking Bradley to pull the upset. I don’t give a crap about Mo State. But Bradley ? Fuck
Article from CBS has some tidbits on expansion:
Mentions UIC as an option and then there's these:
The Valley is losing Loyola Chicago to the Atlantic 10 next year. Bringing Belmont aboard will keep the league at 10 schools, but it won't stay that size for long. One source told CBS Sports the MVC is willing to go as large as 14 teams. Increasing from 10 to 12 is an inevitability, with Murray State and UT Arlington being the frontrunners.
"I keep hearing 14 schools," one source said. "That's what they're interested in."
The source added Missouri State isn't expected to leave the Valley. This has been whispered about in recent months due to the school's upgrades in football. Fact is, Missouri State president Clif Smart is on the Valley's board for expansion. The school's football stadium, last renovated in 2014, seats 17,500 and is "nowhere near FBS-ready," according to a source. "It's nowhere near a James Madison, which is going FCS to Sun Belt. Not in that scope. It would be an awfully big swing."
Also mentions Nebraska-Omaha as an option if Kansas City falls through.

I watched some of that game. MoSt sure looked to have way more talent and was up by 9 late...yet managed to lose. Ford can recruit at least.

Murray State absolutely! If UIC can up their athletics budget, I'd way rather have them than UT Arlington. 14 is too many. Nebraska Omaha Nope!
Never thought MoState would want to leave. I get Loyola - Sister Jean and the Pope demanded less contact with Protestants...even though it's a bad decision.
Well the Valley doesn't appear to have an elite team, but from what I've seen there are at least 3 teams (Loyola, Drake, and UNI) that have top 40 capability and can play with almost anyone. Agree with others on how this presents a sincere opportunity for SIU to capitalize: if improvement can continue and Jones can stay healthy we have a real shot at stealing the conference this year - which IMO is a year ahead of schedule.
Unless we're shooting 50% from three and Domask and Jones are scoring 28 ppg ea., we're not winning the MVC.
Unless we develop a real inside scoring and defensive presence and a consistent 3rd scorer, we're going to lose a lot of games in the MVC.
It was nice to get a road win last night. I believe we were the only road team to get a W.

If we get Brown and Jones back and near 100% healthy we can compete for an mvc title. With those two playing healthy I believe we can be the best defensive team in the valley this year. That will give us a chance every night.

Good D sure helps, but you gotta score some points!
