not very impressive for drake playing at home.

drake is going to start two years worth of renovations to that gym after the season. they are going to fill in the corners with seats and replace some of the bleachers with seats. there's probably other stuff but that's all I heard.

Unless we're shooting 50% from three and Domask and Jones are scoring 28 ppg ea., we're not winning the MVC.

Unless we develop a real inside scoring and defensive presence and a consistent 3rd scorer, we're going to lose a lot of games in the MVC.

If we get Brown and Jones back and near 100% healthy we can compete for an mvc title. With those two playing healthy I believe we can be the best defensive team in the valley this year. That will give us a chance every night.

we have to start consistently putting together a solid 40 minutes of basketball before we worry about competing for a title.

Murray State announced renovations to their basketball arena.  Guessing an MVC invite is coming soon:

Missouri Valley Conference games for Saturday, December 4th:

#125 Miami (OH) @ #181 Indiana State 12:00 PM ESPN3 (Miami favored by 2.5)

Indiana State heads home and faces a good Miami (OH) team after their close road loss in Chicago.  Miami started the season with a win over Georgia Tech.  They were picked 7th in the MAC.

#284 Tennessee Tech @ #229 Evansville 1:00 PM ESPN+ (Evansville favored by 4)

Evansville looks to bounce-back after their heartbreaking loss to SIU against a Tennessee Tech team that has one D-1 win this season against Lipscomb.

#310 SIUe @ #196 Bradley 2:00 PM ESPN3 (Bradley favored by 10)

Bradley comes back after their big win against Northern Iowa and gets Edwardsville State.  SIUe has 2 D-1 wins against Youngstown State and Nebraska Omaha.  They were picked 7th in the OVC.

#26 BYU @ #76 Missouri State 3:00 PM CBS Sports Network (BYU favored by 2.5)

The game of the day in the Valley.  Missouri State looks to bounce back after their loss to Illinois State and nationally ranked BYU looks to bounce back after their stunning loss to Utah Valley this week.

#285 Jackson State @ #225 Illinois State 3:00 PM ESPN3 (Illinois St favored by 9.5)

Illinois State gets a home game against Jackson State after their big win against Missouri State on Wednesday.  Jackson State has one D-1 win this year against Louisiana.  Jackson State was picked to finish 3rd in the SWAC.

#30 Loyola Chicago @ #108 DePaul 3:00 PM Fox Sports 1 (Loyola favored by 5)

Another big game in the Valley, Loyola faces an undefeated DePaul team.  DePaul is 6-0 but has played a pretty light schedule with their biggest win being against Rutgers.  DePaul was picked 11 of 11 in the Big East preseason poll.

Indiana State wins a barn burner at home over Miami of Ohio. Nice win. Indiana State looks to me like a mid level valley team. I think they are better than Illinois State, Bradley, Valpo and Evansville. It will be interesting to see how we play against them.

Redbirds down 4 to Jackson State with 1:10 left at home.  Looking for the worst loss in the Valley this year.

Loyola gets the win over DePaul.  Illinois State loses to a 1-6 Jackson State team at home.

Mosley barely even played against BYU in what was arguably their biggest non-conference game of the year; wonder what's up there.

Bradley's double-digit loss at home to Howard might qualify as the worst, as well.

Loyola-DePaul was intense. Fun game. Ramblers’ two Ivy League transfers are both helpful pieces, and Uguak has become a viable two-way player.

Big missed opportunity for Missouri State at home with BYU, but Brad Korn set the tone for a disappointing winter in Springfield on opening night.

End of Indiana State-Miami was pretty wild.

Muller needs to be put out of his misery.

If Little E is no where near the worst team in DI. I'd honestly be afraid to play them this year. They did just almost beat Creighton on the road, almost beat Marquette on the road, they have played some good teams pretty well this year so far.

Little E also has bad losses to Chicago State and new D-1 team St. Thomas.  They're led by Freshman Ray'Sean Taylor who has been impressive this season.  Could be decent if they can keep him going forward.

Missouri Valley Conference games for Sunday, December 5th:

#64 Richmond @ #122 Northern Iowa 1:00 PM ESPN+ (Richmond favored by 1.5)

Richmond visited Drake a few weeks ago and lost 73-70, now they head to Cedar Falls to face a Northern Iowa team coming off a bad loss at Bradley.  Richmond doesn't have any bad losses this year but have failed to rack up any great wins.

#224 Valparaiso @ #307 Western Michigan 1:00 PM ESPN3 (Valpo favored by 5.5)

Valpo comes back after a tough loss at Drake to face a Western Michigan team that is coming off back to back overtime wins in their Fort Myers MTE against Purdue Fort Wayne and Southeastern Louisiana.  Western Michigan was picked 9th of 12 in the MAC preseason poll.

#305 St. Thomas @ #62 Drake 2:00 PM ESPN3 (Drake favored by 20.5)

Drake faces a team playing their inaugural season in Division 1 in St. Thomas.  The Tommies are playing in the Summit League and have D-1 wins over St. Francis NY, Niagara, and SIUe.  They also have bad losses to Chicago State, Fordham, and Youngstown State.  Drake will be their first real competition of the year and Vegas is loving the Bulldogs..
