Redbirds and Muller lose at Indiana State. Cooper Neese had 28 points. Redbirds fans are fed up, feels like the end of the Lowery era.
33 seconds left, trees up 1, inbounding the ball. mueller tells the birdies to stay back and not foul. trees take up the entire 30 second shot clock. birdies don't get the ball back until there are 3 seconds left, and have to go full court.
a redbird degree does not make you a genius.
Win probability chart. Illinois State led 31-15 with 4:16 left in the first half. They had a 92% chance of winning when they were up 57-49 with 4:00 left.
Illinois State is likely going to be pretty attractive for potential head coaches. Already talks about Gonzaga assistant Roger Powell Jr.
Bradley beats Drake at home 68-59. If it wasn't clear before, Bradley is a legit contender to win the Valley now.

I don’t think Bradley has any chance to actually win the Valley this year, but what they have done after all their BS last year and stuff this season is pretty amazing.
Record against the top 5:
Northern Iowa: 3-2 (Left to play: 3)
Loyola: 2-3 (Left to play: 3)
Missouri St: 4-2 (Left to play: 2)
Drake: 2-5 (Left to play: 1)
Bradley: 4-3 (Left to play: 1)
SIU: 0-8 (Left to play: 2)
Illinois St: 2-5 (Left to play: 3)
Valpo: 1-6 (Left to play: 3)
Indiana St: 2-5 (Left to play: 3)
Evansville: 0-7 (Left to play: 3)
If Murray and Belmont were in our conference this year, we'd have 7 of the top 100 programs in Kenpom right now. Really is a shame that we won't be keeping Loyola in here with them.
Luck Foyola!
We'll be a better league next year with more national interest.

Ironically, the one good team SIU beat this year has dropped out of KenPom's top 100 (Colorado is at 104). Really puts an emphasis on why this season is disappointing despite the fact that they're going to finish 6th when most had them at 5th in preseason.
They don't drop many games to inferior teams (with the exception of bad losses to Little Rock and Northeastern, Tulsa is about on their level) but they obviously can't beat anyone better than them.

This team has been an odd group. We play close games with everyone, win against bad teams, lost against good teams. I’ve never seen such a group with seemingly a high floor but a low ceiling.
But we’ve been in almost every game, and could still pull off an upset in St. Louis. I really believe that. We are truly mediocre this season, but life could be worse. And I still think that we have reasons to be positive about next season.
Loyola just scored 47 in the first half vs UNI
Game is airing on ESPN 2. Nice to see yet another national TV game for the valley. Seems like that’s happening more frequently

UNI just obliterated in Chicago, and even after shooting 40%+ from the field and from 3; they just couldn't stop Loyola.
dan mueller has left the building.
Redbird forum has a coaching thread now (obviously) and I see them mentioning Bruce Weber (among many others) should he become available...surely not. Lowery got a couple mentions too. It's a pretty entertaining read.
