I'm looking for Jerry Kill and the SIU administration to recommit to this program. SIU's administration have allowed this program to go down the toilet and continue to stand by and watch. It's time for the incompetence to end. I have been a devout Saluki fan since my college days, but I agree with others, that I've never been more disinterested. I don't care how the little huckster finishes out this season (tournament or no tournament, conference championship or no conference championship) he has to go. For those recruits that are redshirting this year and those that have signed for next season, I hope they decide to honor their commitments, because SIU has a history of winning. If the administration is smart enough to bring in the right coaching candidate following this season, it won't be long before you're part of a strong tradition of winning Saluki basketball.....and I'm not talking about the little huckster's version of winning (scheduling lesser teams prior to this season, so he can puff out his chest and tout 20 win seasons) we're talking about competing at another level. I have no doubt Saluki basketball will return to a respectable state.....but it won't be under this head coach.

I hope when I get up in the morning, that there is a big bag of Cheetos.

Watched Kentucky play today. They are much improved from the time they played the Dawgs. Guess that is what good coaches do, improve their team, wish we had a good coach.
I said earlier I’d stay off this thread. I feel as if I’ve mostly upheld my word. I am making an exception here. John Dunn, the new Chancellor, someone I knew when I was a poor college student at SIU and he was provost, went to Western Michigan to take their President job, and was instrumental in bringing in PJ Fleck who rebuilt their football program. He has the track record to do the same with another certain hire people keep bringing up.
For the first time in a long time, we have the solid leadership in Stone House and Anthony Hall. Trust the process!
PS - if I am saying this I have good reason to do so. Praising an SIU administrator? Me? Yes. John Dunn is a good man, and more importantly, has the track record of making the right decisions.

I fear you are dreaming like a lot of folks on here! I'll believe it only after the fact.
Same here. Didn't we go through this with Lowery for like 3-4 years? Until he finally finished 8-22 and made it obvious to everyone? I'm afraid mediocrity has become the norm here at SIU.
Here's the thing. I haven't liked Kill since he sued SIU after breaking his contract. However he has set the benchmark for coaches that they must show improvement and progress in the program. Basketball is regressing. Barely over .500 this season and a distaster pending next year. This is effectively a contract year for BBQ. Kill won't renew in a backslide and in what will be a near complete rebuild. There's no progress here and an ideal time to make the move. No NIT, no job.

I admit my memory is not that great but I do remember this. Even IF kill wants to fire him which is doubtful, the ad at siu doesn’t make that decision.

Kill has done a nice job of setting expectations with the removal of under performing coaches thus far. Keep those expectations high and demand bigger things out of the programs that offer SIU the greatest exposure through the national media. I'm onboard thus far, but there's unfinished business. Keep the momentum!
I have no idea where Kill stands on this matter, but it's difficult to argue the fact that this is the most talented team that SIU has had in years and easily the most talented team since the little huckster has been at SIU.....and they have grossly underperformed. If SIU's administration is happy with the results, more than the little huckster need to be relieved of their duties.
The other thing to keep in mind with Kill is that helped save PT. He and Carlo sawed the limb off behind Bell. If we continue to muddle around at .500 it's going make Kill look bad. Kill hates to look bad and he stuck his neck way out there for this clown. PT has failed to produce, Kill has egg on his face at this point, game over with no NIT. Dunn won't block a Kill recommendation.
