Barry was out coached against Valpo. He is now 1-2 against them. With loss number 3 coming up later this season. Illinois State will pound us. Book it.
One way or another, BH will be the last SIU Div 1 basketball coach.
Congrats...you won the internet today with this, the single dumbest post ever.
There's no words to describe how wrong your post here is, and how it says much more about you than it does about Hinson, who, in fact, does need to be fired (the sooner the better).
But to imply that SIU basketball will return to Division II (or whatever it is that you are implying) says much more about you and your worldview (as it pertains to SIU) than it does about SIU basketball.
Single worst post. Ever.
(1) US COVID-19 statistics (February 29, 2020-June 16, 2020): 2,124,000 reported cases and 115,052 deaths
(2) Donald Trump (June 15, 2020) told a group of senior citizens that there would be very few cases of COVID-19 if the US stopped its testing and contact tracing: "If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, actually."
(3) Donald Trump [(Jan 20, 2020), when asked if he's worried about a pandemic]: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine.”

Illinois State has two double-digit wins over DI opponents this year: vs. Cleveland St. (by 11 in overtime) and home vs. Evansville (by 12). They are not very good. SIU could very well win, or they could lose, but getting pounded against this mess of an ISU team would take a special level of dysfunction.

He's got the coaching job as long as he is willing to do it. Haven't you been paying attention?

Unless Barry does something he has never done, this is his last years. Listen, Barry Hinson would have never picked his team first in the valley and scheduled the way he did if he did not have the do or die year presented to him... He just wouldn't. He would pick us 3rd or 4th then sell us on how we finished right where we were picked, won 20 games and had a good year. That is not the case this year, it is win the league title or the tournament or pack your bags. League title already slipping away, anyone think he can win 3/4 in a row in STL? Barry Hinson will not survive this year, I am very confident of that.

Someone's got to win Arch Madness. It could be Southern, based on personnel, experience, Hucky's desperation, etc. Not saying it's likely to happen, but the cases for other teams winning Arch Madness (maybe outside of Loyola, which hasn't exactly been a juggernaut) also strain credulity.
i eat A lot of cheetoz. NOt barry's fault that Bol got ingured again and Armond fetcher did whateever he did. MY wife loves Hinson
Giive the guy a brake.

I said that last year. It did not go so well. 🤔

It is not about Barry being liked or disliked. It's fine for people to like Barry. The university's highest paid employee must produce. The flagship program in the department cannot lose money.
No, it's not his fault that Bol and Fletcher have missed games. It is his fault that he has not recruited any other players that can step in. It is his fault that our offense is a total wreck. It is his fault that our defense disappears for large portions of the game. It is his fault that we have no class balance. It is his fault that we have had so many transfers.
This is big business, not a likeability contest. Barry did a good job of digging us out of the crisis Lowery left us. However, he has clearly reached his potential ceiling and it's time to move on.

If Bol and Fletcher were the only issues on this, and prior teams, fine. But Barry's record is one of non-accomplishment. Period. He does NOT deserve a break after this long at SIU.
Sorry about your wife, with no disrespect intended.
March on triumphantly!

Also, if Lowery took a ton of heat for disciplinary problems on his watch (which he did), why does Hinson get off blameless if players misbehave on his watch?
Furthermore, have you noticed that Fletcher has been back the past two games, and they lost both of them?
Let's not forget about the pending 7-23 season next year. Or the glowing 142 NET this season. Does he get a two-year extension in March only to fire him next season when we hit rock bottom? It's a tough biz but you have to separate personal from professional. He did plenty of personal damage a year ago and may have blown our chances with Mullins. I don't think he's that likeable. He act certainly wears thin.
Craving a McBride Special!
Agreed on all accounts... I truly believe he was given "one last chance" this year and he is failing. Reis often refers to this as a huge year for him personally. Heff has reported that no post season should result in a change. Everybody knows this is it. Barry voted his team first. He knows its a must to retain his job or he would not do it. He likes a low bar. I think the argument for retaining him this year was, hey these are his guys, they're all seniors, maybe he deserves one chance to show us he has built something. He has not. It failed. The only reprieve is winning 3 games in STL. If he does not do that he won't be back.
Hinson's spotted at Lowe's buying moving boxes.
I hope.
Well, he has a place to put his stuff.
March on triumphantly!
