please let’s no poison every thread with this topic. Keep it right here and I won’t delete it.
I love Bryan as a Saluki. I want more than anything for Bryan to succeed . I’m afaid it’s time to start having that discussion. I am by no means calling for anybody to be fired. But a Marty Simmons rewind is not something I want to see at SIU.
I would trade the Marty Simmons Aces for what I've seen the last 5 years in an instant. The DJ Balentine/Mockevicius Aces team was way more fun that anything I've seen
I agree. Really like Mullins as a player, person, and Saluki, but this staff isn’t improving. This team is lacking the fundamental skill of boxing out and rebounding. We also can’t seem to get over the hump with crating a more dynamic offense. Lots of concerns at this point.
You don't try to work the clock early in the second half. Period. You might take the foot off the gas in an exhibition against a D2 team in that situation. Not tonight.
Just bloody AWFUL.
(Inflammatory political snark)
Just need better talent and better coaching. We won some games with incredible shooting (St. Louis). That is usually a rare event, especially in conference play, and is something you just can't count on every game.
2nd half our coaches just could not devise something to slow down the Gargoyles. And as someone said, we were trying to milk the clock whole half instead of going for the jugular.
Devastating loss IMO.
I liked him better when he was our sharpshooting point guard and was dating the cheerleader that lived in the apartment above me.
Seems like he did graduate from the Lowery coaching school, all defense but no offense and even now our D is slipping.
Saluki Insider? I barely know her!
I would rather play in Bangor Maine than Carbondale Illinois. The fact that decent players are recruited and willing to play is good enough. Siu is trying to stay relevant. Maybe it will happen

If Indiana State can be as competitive as they are then SIU can be. I've been to Terre Haute, they should not be out-recruiting anyone in the MVC.
I don’t think even Barry Hinson could’ve blown that lead. Lowery? Maybe.
maybe they have something like a pinch penny. Carbondale doesn’t. And that’s not speaking much. I watched a kid down here in st Pete that would rather play in Tampa than go there. He is better than some players in the valley. That said his defense sucks so I retract that statement and will continue drinking.I would rather play in Bangor Maine than Carbondale Illinois. I’ve cried for Mullins to go many a day. I also think he is cool and keeping the team afloat and relevant. To be fair I think the judgement night should come march. With Emilio estevez and Cuba gooding junior as attornies and that dude from the ref being the judge. Basically let’s see what happens. Siu did cover the spread after all, if you got it at 2.5 like I did.

This was tied for the 2nd largest blown lead in Missouri Valley Basketball history. This was a historically bad loss and at home.
@salukiworld I have been following SIU basketball for 63 years and this is the worst example of in-game coaching I have ever seen. I dearly hoped that Brian could success at SIU but the plain fact of the matter is that, certainly at this point, he is not a good coach. In many ways.
Not good enough. Not good enough and I’m out of patience.
I'm over the painfully horrid coaching displays.
It has been 5 years. He’s not improving. If this season finishes as it looks like it might, I’m ready for change. In this day and age there’s no logical reason to wait half a decade to realistically compete for a post-season berth at a program with any semblance of prestige.
As I’ve said, SIU deserves better.
