Hearing Bryan to UIC looking likely
nice! This is going to make for really easy I told you so’s! What do you guys think, year 1 who will finish higher? UIC or SIU?
Let me get this straight. If perennial bottom dweller UIC hires Mullins after being dropped by SIU (a school that expects to contend for titles every year) that proves your point? I'd say it just proves that UIC has lower standards (which we already knew).
Interesting info I got straight from an employee in Saluki Athletics. This person said Lane was the one who wanted to fire Bryan. He was the main charge of it. Not Leonard. Makes sense after hearing that many of them are not fans of Lane and want more support for athletics.
If that is true I don't envy Leonard he has 1 chance to get it right or he is probably out and also if it is true and you listen to Leonard he didn't seem he was in total agreement he always sounded hesitant that firing Bryan was the right thing

pretty sure we told this when it happened but what would we know?
Regardless of who made the decision it was the right move. As much as I like Bryan, who did everything off the court in the right way, he is not ready right now. His in game coaching, offensive coaching and rotations were glaring deficiencies. Love the man and the culture he built, but we need a better coach.Interesting info I got straight from an employee in Saluki Athletics. This person said Lane was the one who wanted to fire Bryan. Sorry never saw that on here. Only saw a lot of talk about Leonard making the decision. My bad.

the next coach is still a crapshoot. Like recruiting. You base your recruiting decisions on observations usually during AAU play. How do you make your decision on a coach. Well record , and his past recruiting, but most of the decision is based on an interview with the coach. So again the next coach can be a hit and or a bust. Hopefully the people making the decisions do their homework and come up with the correct decision!

Good landing spot for Bryan
Agree. Good luck to the Blue Demons. Let’s see if any of the portal Salukis end up there. Good Luck Coach Mullins.

I would guess yes, maybe multiple.
Good for Bryan - not a bad spot at all for him, especially given his Chicago roots.
Cant disagree about Mullins deficiencies as a game coach, but I hope the next coach is as good at keeping players as was Bryan. In the age of the portal, midmajors will never be really good unless the coach can retain his contributors. With the NCAA doing everything it can to widen the difference between bigs and mids, player development and loyalty are all that's left.Regardless of who made the decision it was the right move. Let me correct you on one thing. The NCAA isn't doing a damn thing. That's the problem. The big/Power 4-5-6 schools are doing it to themselves.
Good for Bryan and great job by Holtmann getting him. Good fit imo
