Expect it within the next few days 😉
Fee has been mentioned by some Missouri State fans as well.
McCollum is a guy I'd take personally. I still think he's off to Missouri State but I'm also not sure why they haven't made that official yet. Are they looking for a bigger name than him?
I've been taking an occasional gander at their fan message board and quite a few big names are being tossed about (Huggins even made an appearance, just as he did on this board). The one most commonly mentioned is Alford. Don't see it happening, but apparently he has said he wants to retire to the Springfield area, which is generating some hope. Crean also has a few supporters.
Missouri State loves hiring their assholes. Petrino with football. Alford is a total d'bag, he'd fit right in
My pick would be McCollum, whose won D2 national titles and coaches of the year or Ben Howlett whose turned a po dunk West Virginia school into a power house.
The fact that you, of all people, is advocating for a D2 coach is the most mind blowing post I’ve ever read on this board. LOL

Was thinking the same thing lol

I was gonna say something too. They're actually really good names so I have no beef with it but it's killing me that it's coming from Spike 🤣 🤣 🤣
Probably unpopular opinion, but I didn't really see anything that stood out about Spradlins offense or defense.
Was a bit underwhelmed, actually.

Meh, Illinois is one of the hottest teams in the nation. So probably not the best game to make observations off of. Thought the first half they ran some nice sets to get open shots. I liked the off ball screens they were setting for their shooters. Also thought they did a good job with their doubles on Domask (first half). Also liked that they finished the game with only 6 turnovers. At the end of the day, Illinois just way too big and athletic
Correct... the Illini currently rank 7th in the country in PPG (84.4), so I wouldn't rate Spradlin's defensive mindset based on just this one game. Overall, Morehead State still ranks in the top 25 in defensive PPG (66.3), even after this Illini win.Probably unpopular opinion, but I didn't really see anything that stood out about Spradlins offense or defense.

I think that MSU team would kick this year's SIU team most nights.
Don't expect anything to be said but Spradlin is about to talk to the media:

To me there is a big difference in the talent level of the players but a good coaching mind can come from anywhere.
These guys get a lot out of talent deserts in rural Missouri and West Virginia and to me that is quite impressive.
Imagine what they could do with a D1 staff and resources.

Alford makes well over 1 mill/year at Nevada, who is on their way to upsetting (probably over-seeded and over-ranked) Dayton.
You got remember guys. The next hire has to be familiar with the Midwest region recruiting. Anybody outside of the central Midwest would be at a disadvantage. IDK who the next coach is going to be but it’s should be closely tied to the Midwest. How many recruits did we recruit that were not from the Midwest beside some portal transfers?

Eh, Mullins and staff had a pretty decent recruiting footprint.
Prep recruits last 5 seasons:
Arizona-1
Florida-1
Illinois-3
Indiana-1
Michigan-1
Missouri-1
Texas-1
Wisconsin-2
Canada-1
