There is a third group. I understand the reason to let Bryan go, and as an alum who loves Saluki basketball I wish the best for the new coach.
But in my experience (and I am old) and having covered a few hirings, you don’t fire a Saluki like Bryan unless you definitely have someone better lined up. Hope those in charge of the search hit the jackpot.I think it’s gonna end up better can’t get much worse than 5-27 against the top teams in 5 years. I’m hoping that their character lives up to Bryan he’s an awesome dude with a great personality
nothing is guaranteed in life. Except death and taxes! Like some of the previous posters have said. Coach Mullins record against the top 4 teams in the league were not stellar. The overall program GPA, increased attendance, season tickets sold, NO ARRESTS! Were something the new coach will hopefully continue! As other posters have said. This better be a slam dunk hire to improve our standing in the Valley to win against the top teams in the league and finish at the top or near the top. Get us into the post season! If it’s not. The administration needs to be held accountable!
Whoever it is, good luck. I want nothing more than for the Dawgs to be successful in all sports. We all need to be ready to cough up some $$$ because that is what is going to be needed for a practice facility and NIL.
When the new coach is hired, we will know in 2-3 years if we slam dunked it or we will be on here B/C again!
Hearing things have changed and it just may be Spradlin. I for one would be very hopeful with that hire if true.
Take it with grain of salt, but source is right more tgan wrong.

I am prepared to be hurt again now.

I really hope you're right
I really hope the source is right. If not, I will ban myself😂
Firing up my grill as we speak... Hoping to put some crow on it later.

Better be a big grill. That’s a lot of crow to eat in one sitting. Lol
I’m very curious to hear what the salary is going to be. If they really did have a deal in place, he backed out, and is now the guy again, stands to reason we had to go back to some donors with hands out asking for more, and then upped the offer. The quote in the article a couple days ago from Leonard talking about being disappointed that he is dealing with agents instead of face to face with the coach supports that idea too. Thinking we might really be surprised at how much we offered to get him here.

You think we could reach $600-700k? I would think it would need to be a sizable increase from the $290k he made this year.
My first thought would be, what happened? Allegedly he pulled out? Now he is back in. What does that tell you? IDK. Did his other inquiry fall thru? Or was it a smoke screen all along?
Or was he angling for more dollars or a practice facility to be built, NIL money ? Or a bigger buyout? It will be interesting to hear?
