@resaluki-88 Your description of Jacobs sounds just like Kendall Brown-Surles.
He is way more athletic than Kendall Brown-Surles. Additionally, he is a walk-on so anything we get out of him is a bonus. Brown-Surles was a Lowery recruiting special who became a starter out of desperation. Lowery called him a "Baby 2" and shoehorned him into the lineup despite him being a poor shooter and defender.
They were also family members.
I would say it was desperation due to the talent level on that team or lack thereof. I know they were family members. I have no doubt JR Jacobs is more talented. Also, Jacobs and Brown-Surles had similar D1 offers. I believe Brown-Surles had only low major offers, except for SIU and Jacobs had D1 offers that included Radford amongst others.He didn't become a starter out of desperation.
