Dalton leaving is NOT on him. IF you are told that you won’t getting playing time what would you do?
I’d be surprised if they told him he wouldn’t play, especially considering the roster at this point isn’t exactly loaded at guard. I’d guess it was more like he’d have to come off the bench behind X again, which should be no surprise to anyone based on play.
If Domask had come back, I’m guessing Banks might have too, considering their close relationship … just my hunch.
@siudawgs Okay believe what you want but I am not guessing. Banks leaving had nothing to do with Domask. Dalton Banks averaged 25.5 minutes his first season 23.3 his second and 14.2 this past so as they say the stats don't lie. What would you do IF you were Dalton?
I love Banks and wish he was staying but you look at the list of schools after him right now and it shows he's a Valley bench player. I really enjoyed watching him play and loved his hustle.
@salukiworld I agree. Liked him. However, his contributions didn't elevate the program to where it needs to be. Simply need better players
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

Man, these outgoing Saluki transfers aren't making it easy on some of us to enjoy next college basketball season. I know he and Domask are tight, but that's an extreme measure to take to stay within a half hour of Marcus. 😆
An in-conference move. That’s a bold move.
Will be interesting to see how he does under Pedon. I think he’s better than what he showed here.
Consider the SIU-ISU rivalry spiced up. I'd imagine the #keepyourchip hashtag will apply to Dalton if he and X are matched up two or three times next year.
Also, I think Banks has two years of eligibility left if he wants it?

Yes, Banks should have 2 years left
Hard to see where this move is beneficial for Dalton a lateral move or upward would be easier to swallow but backwards and rival doesn't make sense

My guess is he just wants more playing time and found that in Illinois State.
Illinois State seems like a weird choice for him.

I can understand wanting to play in the MVC over the lousy Horizon if he feels like he has something to prove but still weird to see one of Mullins’ supposed culture guys bounce to arguably Southern’s biggest rival.
