Any news about Lance??
One under-the-radar negative about this (as well as Banks leaving for that matter) is that it somewhat undercuts one recruiting advantage Mullins had going for him: that in a volatile portal landscape, kids in Southern’s program stuck it out because of how tight-knit the program is. I know Domask stayed four years and graduated, but if players start transferring out at rates comparable to other MVC programs, that would be problematic.
Wishing the best for Marcus. I hope he lands with a big time winner. Four years and graduation with honors makes for a good program

Hearing there was a meeting with Iowa State last night
Well since it’s out now.
They tried to get a large sum raised to keep Marcus. The hopefulness Tuesday night was the offer made. Sadly He was not about money. He wants to play in the NCAA tournament. I understand and can’t hate on anybody for following a dream. He felt his chances were better elsewhere. I know he met with the Iowa State folks last night. I am not sure Wisconsin is a sure shot tournament team.
Marcus gave us four years and is an all time great Saluki. Let him make a run and I will be cheering for him. Well unless he goes to like Kansas or Iowa then meh
I am impressed that they tried to raise the money.
Let’s all be totally honest here. There wasn’t going to be any postseason next season even if Domask and Jones both returned.
Now we find out if Mullins can recruit and if he is willing to change his defense-only philosophy.

They’re the ones that can get us where we haven’t been in 15 years.
I am impressed that they tried to raise the money.

If Domask and Jones coming back wouldn't have put us in position for one of the two postseason tournaments that matter next year given the Valley turnover, we are in a much worse spot than I would have imagined. We had a couple scholarships to work with to bring in a consistent 3rd scorer/wing and a backup PG.

Disagree, there certainly could have been a postseason had they both returned.

I think the Valley is so bad, they would have been preseason #1’s but that doesn’t guarantee much. They had a chance to do this last offseason and they added about 18 points per game among 3 players in the portal. They lost Coupet and Verplancken who averaged about 17.5 points per game themselves. Verplancken averaged 13.2 points per game on his own this season.

not so sure . UNI is gonna be a ton and Drake has not lost their coach or his kid yet
I just hope Kennard Davis doesn’t show up here and have a big debut and then decide to leave after only ONE season.
But I could see that happening.
IMO, Valley and other coaches are going to use our horrible offensive “system” against any potential recruits.
Seriously, what good athletes or offensive players would want to come play in the Mullins system?
Not many.

stop his system is almost the same as 3/4 of the teams in the MVzc
