And the future looks bright for Drake
I like this team. They play hard. We did not deserve to win this game, but with that said every bounce went Drakes way. Reload and see what happens against Bradley.
As long as Darian and Tucker are at Drake, they're gonna keep kicking our ass. Whether it's at Carbondale, Des Moines, or St. Louis. They kicked our asses with 2 Big Ten starters on our roster.
What an ass-whooping on our home court. We couldn’t throw it in the ocean and gave up layups by the dozens. XJ and the whole team were trash tonight.
Working season up to a big crowd, then laying an egg is getting to be a tradition. Sad.
Lousy offense and rebounding aside, for a defensive-minded coaching staff and program, hard to justify getting beat on so many basket cuts. WTF.
BTW, is Stulic ever going to make another basket? Good golly.
The suprising thing to me as long as DeVries has been at Drake he runs the same action on offense and Southern never seems to be prepared for it also they allow Southern to shoot 3s until we prove we can make them it is like deja vu all over again until something changes I don't care who plays for who Southern isn't going to beat Drake somewhere the philosophy has to change

good offensive plays, when really executed to perfection, are very hard to defend. They ran the old-fashioned give-and-go many times and scored on it.
id rather him miss one or two than Troy keep jacking them up. More impressed with Hensley or Clarence taking a 3 than him. It is getting old and it’s not like he is a lockdown defender. No need for so much ptBTW, is Stulic ever going to make another basket? Good golly.
First live game in a long time. Good crowd. Disappointing result. We have to shoot well to have a chance against good teams, and we didn't do it tonight. They shot an excellent 56% to our 36% and Brodie killed us on the boards. Hard to win with that kind of shooting. A lot of our poor shooting though was Drake's tough D - they came to play tonight.
Drake has a lot more talent than we do and they're well coached. That said, we shot the three very poorly and only played with the required intensity for a short period of the 2nd half, cutting the lead from 20 to 12.
During this run, Mullins played both Hensley and Ebube together and our rebounding suddenly improved. Hensley with one of our bigs is a combo that should be tried more often.
However, Hensley playing the 5 against Brodie should never be tried again. Looked like the hulk vs. a stick man.
Devries was really good, NBA good tonight. Drake played really good D and made it tough for us. Brown had a good 2nd half and AJ Ferguson, player of the game, is going to be a very good player for us.
I don't think Bradley is nearly as good as Drake or InSU. If we can suppress Hickman, we can beat them, but we must shoot better.
BTW, that new scoreboard in the center is huge.
@jabman62 Change and adaptable are not two words I would use to describe the Mullins era.
