If SIU loses to Indiana State, they're probably ticketed for Thursday

It will be a close game that’s for sure.

Maybe they'll spot them a 10 point lead at halftime and we can see if SIU can battle back for another 1 point loss

Haha. That’s SIUs game plan.

SIU plays so many close games. It’s fine to play close games on the road. At home, not so much.

That was brutal coaching to not give SIU a shot to foul and still give them a chance to tie or win.  I'm a Mullins fan and I'm not giving up but things aren't looking great right now.  This team constantly can't figure out ways to win games.

JD should have been in the corner, but Domask screwed up and held the ball too long.

I've seen Mullins draw up some very nice plays - that wasn't one of them.

No Tatum to put the dagger in at the end.

I’m not gonna lie. I’m sad. It’s a sad loss. And I am sad. I like wins. I hate losses. This is not a poem.
I’m sad.

We should just fast forward to the end of the season, where they'll finish 15-14, win a game in St. Louis, then lose the next one... season over.  I just can't get my hopes up for this particular team right now, as there's not enough talent to make any serious run at either the MVC crown or any magical run in St. Louis in March.

On the bright side:

1. SIU kept their opponent below 61.
2. Mounted another great comeback.

3. J.D. made a free throw.

4. Maintained their superiority of poor clock management

4.

if you've got a poem, this would be a good time.

This season, I wanted to see if SIU can turn that corner but at this point I just want to see if SIU can find a way to win basketball games.  It's one thing to do it against the bottom of the Valley like they did against Valpo and Evansville, it's another to do it against the top tier teams.

I don't think any of us expected for SIU to compete for a Valley championship this year but this team isn't really anywhere near turning that corner until they prove they can be competitive against the good teams in the conference.  Last year they went 0-7 against the top 3 teams in the conference.  They're already 0-3 this year against the top 4.  They still have 1 quality win all year.

Coupet took 1 shot. Not acceptable. We need him to contribute on offense.

Thought Brown played well tonight. Hit a couple of big 3s.

We'll beat Indiana St.

Might beat Indiana State. Not a given, and if they have their heads down after two hard losses, it won’t be pretty.

Indiana State is a good team.  They took UNI to OT on the road, battled Loyola hard twice.  It's not going to be an easy game.  And if you drop that, you drop to 0-3 at home.  You can pretty much lock up Thursday at that point.
