Add another huge win for Coach Mullins and our Salukis! Marcus Domask is a pretty good basketball player. JD had yet another solid performance, as he continues his recovery from back injury. Experience he brings is a plus.
This team found a way tonight. Last year we played them close three times and lost. 12-4 and 4-1 MVC.
Enjoy this one. UNI will most certainly be an extreme challenge on Saturday. OHHHHHHH AND
GO DAWGS!!!
UNI is really young and not that good. It's at their place....and Bowen Born can score. Lance needs to shut his Iowa Hillbilly ass down - we win.
DAWGS!
Mr. Woogers your comments are light hearted, and actually hilarious!
We just never play well at Frostbite Falls, and even though they are young, they have a experienced, and solid coach in Jake. I hope MD doesn't miss the bus there. Getting Scottie (aka Scooter) more PT will continue to help us in this grind of a season. Foster, Cade and AJ will be well rested, and ready to surprise at ARCH MADNESS! :)>
GO DAWGS!!!!
Don't get me wrong, I want to see more of Wonders, I was just pointing out that he has struggled when in the last 6 games. I still think we see more of him and in the near future. Hopefully he can use that time on the court to get further acclimated / comfortable on D because he likely is the teams best pure shooter.
On a related note, Tony Bennett (Virginia) rarely plays ANY freshmen. In fact, this year is one of the few years in his tenure where he has played multiple freshmen at the same time. I am NOT comparing our programs, just saying that it is not uncommon for some coaches to lean heavily on the upperclassmen, even to a fault.
I'll keep taking wins no matter how they get them but the offense has got to be figured out. Guessing Wonders sat because of Drake's athleticism but man they could have used some points in the first half. Can't rely on Domask going Superman every night to bail out the rest of the team.
We need the guys on the floor to shoot better as much or more than we need the bench guys. To put it in perspective, Foster is 3 - 13 (23%) in his last 6 games and that includes a 2-4 against Div 2 Lincoln, otherwise it would be 1-9 (11%). Surely he is a MUCH better shooter than that, but he isn't the ultimate answer. The answer is to somehow get the experienced/proven guys like Jones, Newton and Domask to start hitting their shots more consistently.
You're cherry picking.
Foster is our best 3 pt shooter. Conference games:
Foster ... 50%
XJ .... 43.8%
Trent .... 41.7%
Marcus...33.3%
Troy...28.6%
Lance ... 26.3%
Dalton...25%
If I coached any other team in the league, I would triple Domask, single Jones with my best defender, and have a rover to simply follow the ball. It's not like we have any other scorers to worry about.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
Completely agree - we seldom win there, and Jacobs is a good coach. They have talent - just really young. Saw them play a couple of times though and think they will have a hard time with our size and experience. Here's hoping!

Marcus Domask postgame:
UNI is a big swing game. Either you face 4-3 after Terre Haute, or you give yourself a chance to move into first next week. While UNI is young, Ben plays a wide rotation.
Also, Trent got the nod due to his defense, and I think D’Amico did in the second half, as well.
Huge to see Muila evolve. Need Banks to take that next step. Praying that Cade and Foster can get some time.
Bow Em
Drake Twitter feed being trolled hard…
just for debate about athleticism may I submit Trent and Troy as a counterpoint? not disrespecting either one of those guys but I don't think the excuse holds water. I'm not saying start foster but he needs minutes.I'll keep taking wins no matter how they get them but the offense has got to be figured out. Guessing Wonders sat because of Drake's athleticism but man they could have used some points in the first half. Can't rely on Domask going Superman every night to bail out the rest of the team.
evansville: 53
murray: 57
belmont: 45
drake: 49
that's who we are. keep that coming, and we won't need to worry about how many minutes trent, foster and cade are getting.
oh they will. the slide has already started and soon they will be back to total irrelevance. the a10 got conned. On a side note, Loyola got smoked tonight by Davidson (80-57). I normally try to be the better person, but this team was MADE by the MVC and then bolted. I wouldn't shed a tear if they fall to the bottom of the league annually in the A-10.
