The Great Frank Cusumano, on St. Louis sportsradio, interviewed Barry Hinson today (Monday March 4).

The audio can be accessed here:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thepressbox/2019/03/04/segment-2--barry-hinson-3419

Questions? Comments? Queries? Criticisms? Complaints?

How did Hinson sound to you?

How did Cusumano sound?

I'd rather you folks listen yourself before I comment...no spoilers!

(1) US COVID-19 statistics (February 29, 2020-June 16, 2020): 2,124,000 reported cases and 115,052 deaths
(2) Donald Trump (June 15, 2020) told a group of senior citizens that there would be very few cases of COVID-19 if the US stopped its testing and contact tracing: "If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, actually."
(3) Donald Trump [(Jan 20, 2020), when asked if he's worried about a pandemic]: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine.”

They're buddies. Soft interview. When Hucky said "I'm not a spin guy," I almost lost my lunch, and it's 9 p.m.

Infuriating (but not surprising) that Hinson played the Fletcher suspension card when he's played in 16 MVC games, the team has otherwise been healthy and others around the league have faced much more adversity this year.

Pretty telling that Cusumano ended the segment musing that Hinson would function best as a back-slapping AD type (huckster!)

he sounds down and all over the place.  i'm sorry, but our "hot streak" includes two wins over sub 200 teams and one win over a 125. glad we won three but they aren't stellar wins.  managed the obligatory mention of BBQ and Kansas.  "I think he would be quite an entertainer."

"I'm not a spin guy."

"I love recruiting"    (but doesn't like the travel, especially the driving)

if he wasn't coaching "I wouldn't know what to do unless it was talking about BBQ on Frank's show"

Frank discussing what he should do IF he gets out of coaching!

And so the Hinson "All About Me" media blitz begins.  Typical pattern of Barry, when in trouble go to your media buddies and get some softball air time.

No way in hell I am going to listen to this, but does he talk at all about how Fletcher has put this team on his back in several games and carried them offensively?  About how players have stepped up in clutch situations and made plays or shots?

Or was it all about him and his glorious midget a$$?

I didn't know a "slump" referred to a .500 season with 3 wins in a row at the end, lol

Mentions Fletcher and seniors stepping up lately. Also mentions how Fletcher missing all those games hurt the team - like Duke missing their best player. Name drops Bill Self once or twice. Don't think he mentioned his wife. Says he loves the kids and teaching them. Says they don't have a recruiting budget like Kansas so they have to drive a lot on the recruiting trail instead of fly, which he doesn't like at his age. Says every game in the MVC tourney could be OT. Hopes he can continue coaching.  But did not admit he's a manipulative self-promoter and a  shittty coach with low expectations.

This.

That's what I heard, too.

And if you've met Frank, you would expect nothing less...including the obligatory mention of the importance of faith.
