If that did happen I don’t think it would be. What has he done.  Hired Mullins.  Bell tried to do that a year earlier.

I respectfully could not disagree more.  He’s reshaped the whole athletic landscape.  New logo.  Virtually all new head coaches.  New cash flow coming in.  Improvements everywhere from the weight room to the tutoring center to new scoreboards to new football/basketball turf/floor.  I don’t live there, but the people I know who do say there’s new enthusiasm throughout the entire community.  Simply compare what he’s done in the last year compared to the last few AD’s.

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

He's raised millions upon millions of dollars in order to afford to pay Mullins and bring the athletic department back into being a legitimate player.

It's going to be a HUGE loss for the department and University.

Bell raised the money to get BBQ out and bring in Mullins a year earlier. The improvements were all set in to motion well before Kill took over.  Jerry raised a lot of money and was respected in the community. He did an AD’s job

Kill has done more in 18 months than any previous AD that I can remember. I truly hope that he isn’t stepping away it will be a huge blow for SIU.

If Bell had been allowed to do his job this would have started a year earlier. Kill supported bh at the time. Most of what he's done was started by Bell.

Kill literally came in and got in the ear of the president. Managed to get Tommy Bell fired because of his outline for the future of athletics. Then takes his job.

Attempts to position SN and SI as the overly vocal extremist minority simply because he couldn’t keep leaks from coming out of his department. Then less than a year later executes nearly the exact plan that he got Bell fired for even considering to overwhelming applause and praise.

Then unveils the Banterra sponsorship as some great fundraising achievement, when anyone who knows ANYTHING about how things went down during the Barry Hinson fired/not fired fiasco knows that new sponsorships could have been had if Bell would have just been allowed to do his job.

FOH. ✌️ Deuces.

In Mullins’ contract, if Kill were to leave the school before March 31, 2024 and his contract hasn’t been amended or terminated, he will automatically get a one year extension through the 2025 season

He's certainly a restless fella. I feel pretty good about the coaches that are now in place (although the rest of the season will be telling for Nick Hill), but I do think Kill's departure is potentially a big loss from a fundraising standpoint, which is no small issue. And he also was a big name in the region, from a PR standpoint.

Here's hoping Liz Jarnigan is up to the job ... rather interesting that they appointed her AD without doing a search.

Curious that Kill didn't want to stay and do the same job here as he's going to do at VTech.  I guess he just likes swimming with the big fish.  I wish him well.  Thanks again Killer.
