...on my very own TV...on ESPN, I'm watching K Pippen and the Warriors play the Lakers. Pippen is matched up with Dwight Howard (!). Pippen just fouled Howard, who naturally missed both FTs.

Pippen on a pick-and-roll...dunked on a nice play.

...but on a busted pick-and-roll the other way, Pippen committed his second foul.

Four minutes. Two points. Two fouls.

(1) US COVID-19 statistics (February 29, 2020-June 16, 2020): 2,124,000 reported cases and 115,052 deaths
(2) Donald Trump (June 15, 2020) told a group of senior citizens that there would be very few cases of COVID-19 if the US stopped its testing and contact tracing: "If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, actually."
(3) Donald Trump [(Jan 20, 2020), when asked if he's worried about a pandemic]: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine.”

@cleek

I watched the game on live broadcast last night.  It was fun to watch the Warriors bench reaction to Kavions dunk!  I am pretty sure that was the only time the Warriors bench had a reason to celebrate in this game.

I had no issue with Pippen but if you had asked me "what player will get an NBA look" he would have never been my guess.

He had some offensive game but was quite possibly the worst defensive front court player I had ever seen in D1 basketball.

He's there because of injuries. Not likely to make it with Golden State.

FYI, he led the MVC in blocked shots last year.

I dont necessarily consider blocked shots a good indicator of defensive prowess.

Opposing front court players generally had no issue scoring at will against him.

If we had a center last year that is good enough to get a look in the NBA, then how did we suck sideways?  I know, I know bbqBarry was the coach.  Still, in our league, having even one NBA quality player should have put us at the top.

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

I'll be surprised if he makes it in the NBA, but that league is not necessarily known for defense! (Maybe during the playoffs.)  They want scoring, which is why zones were illegal. Now legal with some restrictions.

I actually think he has the best shot of sticking with Golden State over anyone. He may bounce back and forth from the D-league for a while during his development stages, but don't forget he has some intangibles working for him here; he's the kind of big that fits their system, especially if he can step out an knock down jumpers. Also, let's not forget that Steve Kerr and Pip's uncle Scottie go way back, which might've been why GS took a flier on him to begin with.

Once he gets more comfortable with the system, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him get 5-10 minutes a game, especially as the season progresses.

Would love to see a Saluki in the NBA again!

Just going by USATODAY article. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/warriors/2019/10/08/kavion-pippen-sign-warriors-scottie-pippen/3906691002/

I have no idea what other teams' needs are.

"It'd be a long shot for Pippen, a third-team All-Missouri Valley Conference member last year, to make the final Warriors roster after preseason concludes, with Looney (hamstring), Caley-Stein (foot strain) and second-round pick Alen Smailagic (ankle) expected to be healthy soon. "

On the other hand, KP has some talent. I would expect him to improve with better coaching than BBQ.

He may yet get his  shot:

Warriors' Willie Cauley-Stein: Does on-court work Friday (18-oct)
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cauley-Stein (foot) participated in a light shooting workout after Friday's shootaround, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.

While it wasn't much for Cauley-Stein, it is significant, as this is the first on-court work the big man has been seen doing since suffering the foot sprain about a month ago. Cauley-Stein, at the very least, is still expected to miss the entire month of October.

The Warriors play again tonight on NBATV, 9:30pm CST.  Kavions time on the court has increased in each preseason game that he has played.

In three preseason games Kavion has averaged 7 minutes, 2 points, 3 rebounds, .33 for blocks.  He is 3 for 6 on total field goals for 50% FG%.  He has yet to attempt a free throw.
