I remember (jeepers probably two decades ago) playing a round of golf with a just-graduated Saluki MBB player. Not a starter...but a guy who saw some playing time.
Kind of a 3...a bit of a tweener but on the large side. Not enough quicks to be a 2.
It was 90-95 degrees at Hickory Ridge.
We were walking (my preference).
While playing #5, the young man had to stop and sit down; the heat was too much for him. He shut it down not long after that...and rode to the clubhouse in a cart.
I'm reminded of that when I think of K. Pippen.
The guy can play some; he has well-defined offensive skills with and without the basketball.
But if you watch him...and watch closely (particularly while running up-and-down the court, especially when getting back on defense)--he has an odd combination of deficits in a certain type of athleticism, specifically having to do with endurance.
In short spurts, he could perhaps be an NBA backup. But his physical constraints limited him at SIU...and they will do the same at the next level.
I don't believe Hinson's particular brand of coaching limited Pippen's development as a player, as a Saluki, he was who he was.
And a good guy, FWIW.
(1) US COVID-19 statistics (February 29, 2020-June 16, 2020): 2,124,000 reported cases and 115,052 deaths
(2) Donald Trump (June 15, 2020) told a group of senior citizens that there would be very few cases of COVID-19 if the US stopped its testing and contact tracing: "If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, actually."
(3) Donald Trump [(Jan 20, 2020), when asked if he's worried about a pandemic]: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine.”

Maybe he'll get picked up or end up in the D-League
Darn. I really thought the Warriors for this season was his best shot at sticking around. D-league sounds like a good destination for him, at least for now.
--Insert something witty here--
Pippen should definitely find his way to the G League somewhere

With Pippens trade to the Austin Spurs, He will now be able to share "Barry" stories with Austin's Head Coach, Blake Ahearn.
Congratulations Kavion!
