Losing sucks but if there's one positive from the last 4 games, it's been how much improvement Lance Jones has made from the beginning of the season. In his last 4 games, Jones is averaging 15 PPG and he's done it against the 3 of the top 6 defenses in the conference.
Here's what his stats look like this year:
You'll notice as soon as conference play has begun (the bottom row), he's improved almost across the board. Turnovers need to improve and should as he gains more and more experience. People are rightfully excited about Marcus Domask but I think it's time to get excited about Jones as well. We're going to love having him for the next 3 years.

Jones is a dynamic player. Now that he’s hitting some perimeter shots to go with his explosion to the rim, watch out. Really quick hands on defense, too. Yes, he can clean up a few things, but the good far outweighs the bad.
If the coaches can bring in two players as good as Domask and Jones each year, that’s a roster capable of winning in March.
@siudawgs Jones is the real deal. He has grown into a dynamic all around player. He had a great Freshman year after stepping up when Cook went down. He has a very bright future.
And he's only going to get better! (Like to see him improve the FT shooting and the TOs, and I'm sure he will.
Lance has played great since conference play. He is fun to watch. I'd love to see a highlight reel of some of his spectacular plays this year. There isn't a team in the MVC who wouldn't love to have him on their roster.
Like Mullins says, Lance is a winner! Great, talented addition to the Salukis.
Jones is legit . . . Will be a great Saluki ! ! !
Go Southern Go ! ! !
Lance is now averaging 17.6 PPG in his last 5 games
What a motor he has, unbelievable!

Tried to put the team on his back yesterday. He's a warrior.....but he needs some help. When he and Domask are clicking at the same time, that's a formidable duo. Just need a couple of quality "bigs" for next season.

He will have a true PG in the back court with him next year, whether it's Aaron Cook or Dalton Banks. And Domask will have Ben Harvey at the other wing to share the scoring. That's a formidable QUARTET! You're right, all we are lacking is the impact big guy in the middle. I trust Mullins & staff to go out and get that done on the recruiting trail.
It's going to be tough to wait for news on recruits and even tougher once the rest are identified to wait for the start of next year's season. Great positive momentum for this team overall and building something special!! I'm excited to see what happens in the Conference Tournament...you never know.

You're correct. He's not a good enough ball-handler to be a real point guard, but filled in as well as he could. I think he's more suited to be a Kent Williams type of guard and run his butt off to get open.

The one thing about Lance "Trent" Jones is that he has IMPROVED throughout the season. Early on I saw a quick slasher who didn't seem to have a jump shot, and then boom he starts improving his outside shot. And while he STILL needs to shore up his TO's, his drives to the hoop are less wild these past few games. As he continues to develop when to drive and draw a foul vs dish to someone else show is open, he will only get better. He does, however, need to really improve his FT shooting bc with his ability to get to the basket, he will be shooting a lot of FT's in the next few seasons.
