Good Saluki and good player. Never would have imagined that Barry Hinson’s final recruit would play such a huge role the past 4 years.
He was a great defensive player. Also carried the team on offense at times.
Curious to see where he lands.
Supporter of the Fab 4: Scottie Ebube, Foster Wonders, AJ Ferguson & Cade Hornecker.
They’re the ones that can get us where we haven’t been in 15 years.
Fun to watch when he was on fire, and respect the legacy he leaves as a Saluki.
Lance at times hampered the team this year. He was a go-to person that the team gave the ball to in valuable possessions to make something happen. What I saw more often than not was contested shots not falling when they needed to. Contested shooting at times in the middle of games when we needed the momentum to carry on. Needed more drive to the hoop to score or open up opportunities, which he was good at when he did, but it did not come as often as we needed. I also like to believe that Mullins backed him to keep on shooting his way out of the shooting slumps, but it killed the team/game many times. So I think for the Salukis to find an answer to postseason slump, it probably includes moving on from Lance anyhow.
Great career Lance, Always a Saluki, good luck in your next chapter.
Thanks for everything Lance! I will dream the rest of my life about the way Lance was able to move so forcefully and quickly in transition.
I’m sure there were some tough conversations from both parties here but I think it was a mutual decision and the best one for Lance.
Best of luck, Lance! You were electric to watch the last 4 years!
@usmcsaluki He could really light it up!! Good luck in the future!
LJ was of my favorite Salukis of all time. He gave it all in the 4 years. But at the same time I think it’s best for both sides to move on. New faces are needed at the guards position with Foster, AJ and incoming recruits. We need more efficient shooting % and longer guards.
I remember the game at Loyola that he almost won single handedly by getting almost 40 points. Exciting game. I think Marcus was out with injury at the time, if I am not mistaken.

and that was against the good Loyola with Cameron Krutwig!
Lance was a heckofa player for SIU.
Not too surprised. An all-time Saluki great.
Interested to see if the 23-24 squad will be able to crack 50 points in a game.
Lost an abundance of offense. Maybe in the end it will all work out. Just not sure what decade that will be.
As far as offense goes sometimes you get better by having more people involved instead of the ball being dominated 1 or 2 not to mention all of iso calls for Marcus maybe diversity will help

I'm sure it wasn't a mutual decision - it was Lance's. Mullins would love to have an all-conference guard, one of the best defenders in the MVC and who led the league in steals, back for another year.
I don't blame Lance for leaving - I would do the same thing after 4 years and a degree. Hope he ends up at Northwestern.

I'm not sure his loss will effect the offense as much as you think. His scoring was based largely on VOLUME. His defense was top 2-3 in the league and that surely will be missed but as long as Mullins improves in his recruiting, SIU can be fine offensively.
