Have a good feeling these two games WILL be rescheduled. As home games for SIU 🤔 😶
Umm 🤔
BREAKING — New dates are set for 3 home games! Drake (Jan. 17 at 7 PM), Loyola (Jan. 27 at 7 PM) and Valparaiso (Jan. 30 at 4 PM). All previously sold tickets will be valid for the new dates.
So SIU will get 3 home games in a week:
Jan 15 vs Northern Iowa
Jan 17 vs Drake
Jan 19 vs Indiana State
then go on the road
Jan 22 @ Bradley
Jan 25 @ Loyola
then come home
Jan 27 vs Loyola (essentially a back to back)
Jan 30 vs Valpo (was Jan 29)
Not bad, but that's a lot of games in a short stretch. Hopefully everyone is healthy.
Healthy or not I guess we will see what this team is made of also we should be thankful the games were rescheduled as not to lose home games
Bryan Mullins with the media:
Geez, the level of local media coverage for SIU basketball has hit an all time low point. Only 2 reporters on the press release conference call and neither knows much about the program or college basketball in general. On top of that the questions they ask are about on the level of a high school student.
All time low may be overstated. Back in Herrin's tenure the "media" was the enemy.
@enuf Yes, but at least the enemy covered the team thoroughly, asked intuitive questions and tried to write interesting and investigative stories. In my opinion, that is better than very little to no coverage at all by journalists who don't know their azz from 3rd base!
TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (AP) Ryan Schwieger scored 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting to lead Loyola Chicago past San Francisco 79-74 in an impromptu neutral-site matchup at Salt Lake Community College on Thursday.
Jacob Hutson added 13 points and Aher Uguak scored 10 for the Ramblers (10-2), who played for the first time since Dec. 10 after having six straight games canceled or postponed due to COVID-19 issues.
