To all who have yet to see a game, you are in for a treat. I know the season is young, but I cannot tell you how impressed with this young man. He is advanced beyond his years in terms of court sense, poise, demeanor, and execution. He could be the best shooter on the team. I don’t know how many minutes per game he played in Florida, but they up there. I expect him to be a strong contender for FOY in the MVC. Quite a recruiting coup!!

I said that after the very first exhibition game. He is the real deal. Kid was a very good get. Mullins and crew did their homework on this one.
He is impressive and doesn't play like a freshman. Going to be fun to watch for 4 years.
I am not going to wish away a single minute, especially at my age, but I am already looking forward to seeing Marcus and the other freshmen, playing together as seniors. I fully expect to be one of the top 2 teams in the Valley by then.
The problem with that is that with the number of players that go through the transfer portal on a yearly basis, the possibility of a team staying together for 4 years is pretty slim. If any of these players blow up like we hope for them to, they are going to end up in a BCS program.

You can avoid some of this by building a good culture. I know you’re not referring to Marcus specifically but he knew what situation he was getting into. They’re gonna get a chance to build something.
And, occasionally, it swings the other way...case in point...Kendrick Nunn
Domask is already the BEST PLAYER on the Salukis, even after just a few games. Marcus is our No. 1 guy. That's a good thing for it to be a freshman.
Argue all you want, but I'm right on this one.
Hopefully, Cook and McGill produce this year. They can't hide, at times like last season, with senior talent around them.
We can have a good season and compete for 6th place and a Friday spot in the MVC Tournament. May end up 7th or 8th, but 6th is doable.
No matter what happens, I'm already thrilled to not have to deal with Hinson's BS and to have Mullins in charge of the program. I'm spending money on SIU this year, regardless of how good they are.
My wife and I attended the Florida event. At the end of game 1 she says to me “who do you think the best player is?”, I respond, “Domask”. After third game I ask her same question and get the same answer.

Domask is clearly the best player that SIU has. They need to keep him around. He's the cornerstone to build around.
Domask is going to have a broken neck from the big head you guys are giving him. He's the best forward on the team and obviously has talent - is playing great for a frosh. Not sure I'd anoint him the best player on the team yet.
AC 15.3/game 16 as. 15 rb 14 stl 0 blocks
BB 14/game 2 as. 21 rb 0 stl 4 blocks
MD 14/game 11 as. 16 rb 3 stl 1 block
EM 8.8/game 12 as. 17 rb 3 stl 1 block (hasn't shot as well as he can - I think his scoring will pick up)
MD named MVC Newcomer of the Week in MVC. The Illusion has the story, leading the team in several stats. Go Dawgs.

Pretty neat stat from the Southern Miss game preview on the SIU Athletics site:
"Domask leads all MVC freshmen in scoring, rebounding and assists. Domask is one of only 10 freshmen nationally averaging at least 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game."
How on earth was he going to Northern Kentucky before us? Not that we are some powerhouse.
how did all the big boys overlook this guy? He definitely could have worked his way up in a mid level Big Ten program.
Big schools are often stupid in their recruiting. N. Kent. is in the Horizon. They have a better record, NET, and RPI than we do. They Don't have our tradition.
