I live in Atlanta and have been a Hawks fan for over 34 years (yes I am old). Mike Glenn does the pre-game, halftime, and post game shows on tv for the Hawks with another announcer. I can't tell you what a great person he is and how proud I am every time I see him that he is a Saluki. He is from Georgia and I believe still runs a basketball camp for the deaf in Cave Springs which is about 2 hours from downtown Atlanta and where he grew up. His dad started the camp and Mike has continued, I believe, still to this day. His community work is impressive. My son and I go to as many Hawks games as we can and I have been there with my SIU sweatshirt on. The pre-game/halftime/postgame shows are done on a set on the concourse of the arena and I have been by there before and after games and always hold up my sweatshirt and he always acknowledges me with a smile and thumbs up during a commercial break. My son was at a game without me when people had a chance to meet him and my son told him I went to SIU and got a picture with him.
He is as fine a gentleman as anyone will ever meet and I just wanted to let everyone know what a wonderful ambassador he is!
Never got to see him play, but heard he had as pure a shot as you could imagine.
Believe he also was a candidate for SIU's coaching opening when they hired Weber, but not positive about that.
I saw Mike Glenn play all four years at SIU. Best shooter as a Saluki ever. If I remember right, we beat out Dean Smith , North Carolina for his services his senior year in high school (Rome, GA). He was the #1 ranked player in the state of Georgia.
If only there would have been a 3 point shot when he played. Unbelievable shooter.

True. You could say the same about Starrick and Chico Vaughn.
In my opinion, he had the best jump shot form I have ever seen. Pictures of him shooting should be used in the text books on teaching jump shots.
One of the best pure shooters of all-time. I think he shot 57% from the field as a senior and almost 90% from the free throw line. Perfect form and many of his shots were 20-25 footers as he was not a slasher.
No telling how many points he would have had with the 3-point line.
His nickname is "Stinger". I don't know whether he got that while he was at SIU or in the NBA.

He got the nickname from his Knicks teammates.
Go Dawgs!
