thanks for everything, Mike. We were so lucky to have him as a Saluki.
I knew the day would come (sooner than I liked) and here it is. Thanks Mike for being the voice of the Salukis for generations of fans. I don’t have the words right now…just gratitude.
Edit: I hope that means he becomes a prominent member of this board! Good luck to whoever succeeds him.
Sweet 16, baby, Southern’s there!
A true Saluki icon. What a legacy he leaves and a reminder of the impact that can be made staying in one place for the long-haul.
Glad he gets to go out on his well-articulated terms, but bittersweet to say the least.
Hard to believe it’s over. I guess I expected there to be some type of victory tour for his final season.
Didn’t expect this so suddenly.
It would not be out of the question to consider Mike Reis the greatest Saluki of them all.
Really gonna miss him.
Supporter of the Fab 4: Scottie Ebube, Foster Wonders, AJ Ferguson & Cade Hornecker.
They’re the ones that can get us where we haven’t been in 15 years.
I suggest that his "microphone" be retired to rafters of the Arena. Similar to how the Cardinals retired Jack Buck's microphone on the left field wall.It would not be out of the question to consider Mike Reis the greatest Saluki of them all.
Really gonna miss him.
Hang it next to Frazier and Vaughn. Then add Brooks.
We have been blessed in all aborts to listen to Mike and I am sure he could have left numerous times because he is that good surely he will be in numerous hall of fame feel sorry for whoever fills those shoes it will be extremely difficult in the beginning because of numerous comparisons
I have said for years that Mike is the Saluki's Jack Buck. It's a great loss for the Salukis and Saluki fans but I do understand and relate to the feeling of knowing when "it's time". Thank you Mike for being a great Saluki and helping the rest of us enjoy our passion for the Saluki athletics.
One of the best and we were lucky to have him.
big, big shoes to fill.
Thank you Mike Reis for all the years of great Saluki broadcasts and stellar reporting on Saluki Athletics! You will be missed greatly by fans and SIU. Way to represent our university!
Mike is as good of person as he is a representative of SIU. He was the best of the best and can not simply be replaced. I am happy for Mike to get to enjoy his retirement and wish him the best. Saluki athletics will never be the same.
