DB, the ex-quarterback, throws a perfect pass to Sly! Even though I was there, it is so melancholy to watch and hear this, and remember what was.

No, Bradley was not ranked, but we were. I think it was simply due to the nature of the dramatic ending.
This put SIU 1 win away from being the first team to ever run the table with an 18-0 conference season in the MVC. Unfortunately, UNI took us to the woodshed the next game in Cedar Falls to move us to 17-1. And Wichita St later went on to accomplish the feat with one of their VanVleet/Baker squads.
Ooohh. I remember that game, I was there. I remember we built a BIG halftime lead. Like 20 points or something. When Bradley whittled the lead down to like 5-ish Painter was so pissed going into a time out, he threw a clipboard down so hard it sounded like a gun going off. The poor clipboard shattered.

I was right by the basket where the buzzer beater happened. It's like that team lost it at halftime of the Bradley game and never got it back
