He really was impressive. He is a solid building block.

I just listened to the game - didn't see it. Domask had a double double - 17 pts plus 10 rbs in 32 minutes. Doesn't play like a freshman!  He's going to be a stud in the MVC.

McGill had 17 in 30 mins. Lance Jones had 5 pts in just 15 minutes - super quick. Gooch had 4 rbs and a couple of blocks in 19 mins. Benson had a couple of steals, a couple of blocks, only 4 pts in 17 mins.

We had 12 steals!!!!  Only 9 TOs.

A lot of electricity on the court when Lance Jones was in. He did make a couple of freshman mistakes.

Just got home from the game.  They were pretty tight in the first half and looked pretty meh, but still played good D.  They loosened up in the second half and played a lot better.

We didn't rebound very well, partly due to playing tough, helping defense and being out of position, and partly from just not having a lot of size.

I was surprised to see Gooch backing up Benson in the post.  Let's hope Dembele can stay healthy and play well.  Jerevic finally saw some playing time later in the second half.  His footwork wasn't great, but he played hard and was reasonably athletic.  He's not terrible, but lord he's not good.

Cook, Suggs, and McGill were what one would expect,  solid and steady on both ends.  Domask looked really good, as others have mentioned.  Jones is strong and solid.

Brown looked like a boy among men.  He needs to really get stronger.  Didn't get a chance to show his shooting ability.  I think he took and missed one three.

Francois was pretty athletic, but kinda thin.  He didn't provide the instant offense off the bench as advertised.

Benson was okay, but not as good as I expected.  Gooch looked better than I expected, didn't shoot well, but played good D, rebounded, and showed good athleticism.

Domask was very impressive. Not only a double, double but his passing was excellent. He threw up a alley oop pass that was successful, a behind the back pass to get out of a jam and handled the ball like a point guard. McGill was his usual tenacious self. Jones loosened up the second half and showed some talent. You could tell on offense this team hasn't played together very long. A lot of one on one plays. Hopefully with more practice that will improve. Need more out of our bigs.  Good defensive effort.

Figured defense would have to lead the way for this group. Scoring is going to be a challenge a lot of nights.

Sounds like it might be worth considering Brown redshirting if he’s open to that.

Glad to hear Domask and Jones made good first impressions. The more promising young players, the better.

The one stat I really liked:

Attendance: 3,910

Haven't had a chance to look it up but I would think that was more than a number of conference games last year.

Domask did not play like a freshman, let alone a freshman in his first game. He can do a lot of things and has confidence in himself to do them. I hope Benson is better than he showed tonight. If not they may have to play a small lineup most of the time.

Does anyone who remembers Suggs from his Bradley days know if he has more in his tank than what he showed last night? I was a little underwhelmed. I know he didn't light it up at Mizzou but the fact that Mizzou took a flyer on him made me optimistic.
