Mullins has really brought these guys together. He has them playing with confidence for 40 minutes every game. You have the opportunity to make last minute shots like that because you've practiced those situations. I hope this season is just the beginning of another dominant Saluki program!
Love seeing the crowd reaction in this shot.
If you're gonna reply to me in the forums, please quote what I wrote that you're replying to so I have a clue...thanks! 😀
I recall a Darren Brooks-to-Brad Korn (maybe someone else?) buzzer-beater in either Painter's season or Lousy's first season. I remember listening to the audio feed but I don't know if there was video. (btw, DB QB'ed his HS FB team). We weren't tied, however; it was a win-or-lose situation.
Anyone else remember this?

@zippadeedoodawgs it was Painters only year and it was Brooks to Willis against Bradley after we gave up a big lead video posted on the previous page

Mullins def cares more about his program and kids than the previous regime. It’s still hard to believe that we endured 7 years of the Huckster. Night and Day difference in recruiting, style of play, and energy from the kids.
Domask knew he had to hit that shot or it'd be another game of logging more than 40 minutes. 😛
I'm delighted the team put on a good show for the big crowd and made a memory for everyone who watched, whether in person or on TV, social media, etc. Definitely a win that can further accelerate winning back fans and efforts on the recruiting trail which, in my mind, is mostly what this first year of the Mullins tenure is all about.

Totally agree. Looks to me like the fans ARE back. And if that game doesn't do it, nothing will. The best thing BM said was, paraphrasing, the fans were cheering for the hustle play, defense, rebounding, chasing after loose balls etc.
That is Floorburn U. Saluki fans appreciate the effort and reward the team with larger turnouts.
March on triumphantly!

Not sure what the connection to SIU is. Could be a current member of the SIU Athletic Department wore that mascot in high school there. Who knows?
Did anybody snap a photo of the horse head character? The link to the HS above shows a mascot horse head that is identical to one worn by a member of the SIU Pep band back in the 2013-2015 timeframe. One of the pep band drummers would wear the horse head during the games and while playing the drum kit. It was kind of fun watching him. My son was one of the alternate drummers during this time and said horse head was a great drummer and a character. Maybe he's come back to enjoy some winning basketball.
Go Dawgs!
I’ll bet MD makes sports center
Does anyone know if this did in fact make SportsCenter last night? I did a couple of searches and could not find anything.

oh, ok, so this isnt a normal every game thing... it was just for tonight?
Been to every home game this year, never saw that animal here before. Ha!
Hopefully it was just for tonight!?!?!
I want him back for every home game the Dawgs play at SIU Arena if it means we keep winning! And he maybe he should make a trot out to a few road games too.
Go Dawgs!
The unsung hero Ronnie Suggs. Ron you precise marksmen you, way to go! Put that on in the QB film room next year, Nick! Atta boy Ronnie!
Crowd was awesome. 6500 that cheered the hustle plays and bood Pollard relentlessly. To the kids in the Dawg Pound, you will always remember that game because of the final seconds, but that crowd? That crowd is not the exception, that crowd is the norm! You will see that crowd (and energy) over and over and over again at SIU! You feed off us old timers and we feed off the Pound! Together we create chaos and mayhem!
Go Dawgs!
@airdawg86 I heard that the kid in the horse was a highschool senior, who was trying out to be grey dawg next year
Unreal that shot did not make Sport Center top 10. ESPN bad. To much Puke on it. Should have been #4 or 5 at the worst.
It could still end up on SportsCenter sometime today. We’ve had plays not nearly that great make it before.
How about Trent Brown's save late in the 2nd half?
