It would seem to me that the older guys, if they are any good, are not leaving their respective programs. Barry Hinson was an older guy. Matt Painter was a younger guy.

Bummer! No Thad Matta! 😥
I imagine available money had a lot to do with the available coaches also. Few years down the road and we'll know if getting rid of Coach Babeque was a good idea! 🤡
Matt Painter Was 28 or 29 when BW hired him and 34 when he became head coach. Lusk was in his late 20’s or very early 30’s , same with Lowery, Watson was mid to late 30’s... when BW hired them.
Houston, we have a problem.
Because you don’t know the names? I don’t really have an opinion on if the staff can coach or recruit but there’s a lot of Chicago ties and I trust Mullins is hiring the best staff possible.

Well all but one are from d1
I wish one or more were from the power conferences
Connor Wheeler spent time at Missouri. at least he knows how to breakdown film like the big teams.
I find it interesting that Pat Monaghan goes to Coffeyville Community College.... (someone Kill knew?)

Uhhh. We already know
Some of us suspected it when he was hired, but gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Same reason he was run out of Missouri State (SMS if you young-ins know that school) he is a B or C coach, average to good, with a shot at an A occasionally when the project is right.
He is a good guy, but lacks real big league coaching skills. I would bet, like Watson, he could settle in at a D2 school and be very comfortable.
I'll take young and hungry. The staff looks good to me. Only additions I'd have liked to see would've been, as already mentioned, someone with St. Louis recruiting ties and possibly Smithpeters. I'm 100% on board with what Bryan is doing though. As a young guy, that he had the balls to start completely fresh in spite of how easy it would've been to retain Beane to help assure immediate benefit is a really good sign.

Whew - that's a relief. Was afraid it might be a pic of the coaches having a Fat Tire at the Pinch Penny!

I used to think BBQ was a decent coach. I thought he stunk this year, both defense and (especially) offense. When we won, it was individual effort by our guys, who had/have some talent. Nothing BBQ did.
I got fed up with his lame offense, lack of adjustments, almost never full-court pressing, etc. Losing to Valpo twice? Dawgturds!!!
It looks like Bryan may have taken an elbow to the face recently. Little bit of a shiner there below his left eye.

I echo the sentiments that it would've been nice to have someone with ties to STL on staff, but I trust Mullins and have no doubt he selected a staff that he feels puts the program in the best position long-term.
Similarly, I would have liked someone with ties to the St. Louis area but am optimistic that this group will succeed early due to the Mullins factor. That being said, lets get some tread on those recruiting tires !!!!!!!
Congratulations all. We are thrilled to have you as Salukis!! Let's get to work. 👍
