I would wager the MVC refs cringe when they draw the ISUblue vs Murray game.  Both teams packed with punks.

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

If a player or fan says something racist or out-of-line, players are supposed to report it to their coach, the officials, or both.  Suspension or other disciplinary action is then taken.  No, you do NOT go up into the stands after them.

In a perfect world you shouldn't, but players are human. After a physical game in which you played your butt off, I can understand a player losing it. It happens in the NBA with players that are more mature and have played a lot of games and can just get the fan removed. Just a few headlines:

RACER SCUM. I cannot take credit for that title, Dawgfan from the old Salukitalk board coined it. Like a fine whiskey, some things endure.

Man what a win! Hope everyone made it home safe. That Burns is a major head case. Regardless, good win! On to Normal!

He and newton are both from el paso, so I'm assuming he's friends with jawaun.

Watching the game on the net, which is what I always do from here in Springfield, gave me a headache. I'd have loved to have seen a replay of the last 10-15 seconds of the game when the refs appeared to let the players decide the outcome. I have no idea how the scrum started or where anything about racists comments popped up.

I didn't get a chance to see the game live but will try to watch an ESPN+ replay this evening. Especially the second half.

The number I liked (other than the score) was the attendance, 6507. Not bad for a Tuesday night with a Winter Storm Warning in the forecast. Were there any Murray fans in the house? And yes, I realize we had the bump from the Ag Department.

I do think this is a budding rivalry with Murray. But it's going to need some work to get to where SIU/Creighton was. Remember, it got to be 22,000 people in the Scottrade Center in 2007 and drew an ESPN Gameday in 2008. Both schools are going to need some extended success for a number of years to get to that point.

Whatever warm vibes the SIU staff had with Moore when they were recruiting him appear to have vanished. 😝

Mullins is usually so coachspeaky in his interviews; it was kinda refreshing to hear him take a good-natured swipe at Murray here.

Didn't read the entire game thread, but how about that sprawling save by Newton that led right to a Domask 3-ball? Has to be one of the top 10 plays of the season and very much awakens the echos of #FloorburnU.

Another good win. The jumbled standings means we have to keep winning and can control our own destiny. See you at Illinois State!

Nobody, including Mullins apparently, knows what sparked the little "chippiness" at the end. I do know that Santa Claus was pointing his finger at a Murray State player and saying something that was evidently adding fuel to an already tense situation. Fortunately, people stepped in to calm the situation. We are so quick to call out the behavior of certain opposing players, but this guy was acting like a jerk on national TV. I also remember how some moronic SIU fans insulted Kyle Korver's mother with some disgusting chants a few years ago, so let's not think SIU fans always hold the moral high ground. Rivalries are great and add a lot of excitement to the game, let's just keep it all in perspective and show some class. As Mullins says, first you build the culture.

Hey you leave the Korvers out of this 😊

I don’t care what Santa said. No player should go at a fan. Meth State has always been trash and always will be.
