CARBONDALE, Ill. - Due to an ongoing power outage on the campus of Murray State University, Wednesday night's men's basketball game between Murray State and Southern Illinois has been moved to Carbondale. Tip is set for 6 p.m. CT.
Although the game will be played in Carbondale, it will be treated as a Murray State home game. Tickets already purchased for the game, originally slated for the CFSB Center, will be honored at the Banterra Center. Fans currently without tickets can purchase tickets at the door for $5 cash.
All seating will be general admission, with Section 102 designated for Murray State fans. Parking outside the Banterra Center will be free for all patrons and first-come, first-serve.
The game will be broadcast on the Saluki Radio Network and streamed on ESPN+.
Holy sh—, what a break.
Better damn well take advantage.

They’re also on 1 day rest. This is truly a massive gift. No excuses on this. Gotta win.
Basically a three-game homestand now. Should be a major plus, though, sadly, the team has not played well at home very often.
Better late than never to change that and salvage a better seed for the tournament.
UNI beat them by 7 tonight. Let's kick their butt!
(Prom needs the exercise - running down the floor screaming at the refs like major ahole!)
Quoting Alice in Wonderland “things are getting curiouser and curiouser”. Go Dawgs!

Salukis need to breakout of this 5th place logjam and get it together before Arch Madness. Give us some hope for the future Dawgs, and kick some ass these last few games.
March on triumphantly!

They may need to win 3 of the 4 remaining games to avoid the 8-9 game in St. Louis. Winning the games in the Banterra Center would be enough if they can find a home groove. Getting Mayo back would obviously be helpful but his situation seems fluid.
This is wild. I don’t know if I remember a game being moved to the other team’s venue before, and certainly not for an ‘ongoing power outage’.
As I type this, I realize maybe this is due to the storm Kentucky got this past weekend (I’m too lazy to look into it).
Appears the hillbillies have replaced most of the squirrels killed by lightning strikes, but the basketball arena is still without power.
AJ Ferguson was the best player on the floor in the first meeting. Hoping Kennard and Co. don’t let that happen a second time. Kennard needs to pick it back up in general for this team to get going again.
Ferguson was out of his mind that game. Every once in a while he has a good one. Doubt that will happen again.
Last 5 games:
UNI - 8 pts.
UIC - 6 pts.
Valpo - 17 pts.
Drake - 6 pts.
Mo St - 11 pts.
Just need to plaster this on the bulletin board for tomorrow:
This is going to be a very interesting experience, it's the rarest of the rare that events align such that a sporting event (hockey, basketball, football, baseball) is played as an away game in your own home, but it does happen.
I'm curious to see all the technicalities of this - like, just how far is the MVC going to go to make this a home game for Murray State? Is Falat still going to be on the address? I would guess that one would be so, since SIU knows the ins and outs of their own press row and PA system. And did you know... that's former IHSA basketball official Mike Austin as Banterra Center scorekeeper. (By the way, players, slide your ass allllll the way over to half court to check in. Allllll the waaaay over! Mercy!) I digress....
I would assume they will tell Falat to shut up and can the enthusiasm - it will be odd hearing in a monotone voice, "And now the starting lineup for the Southern Illinois Salukis..." Maybe pump up video and momentum swing music/vibes won't be there either, but this is all just my guess.
All of SIU's sponsors get an extra game to advertise. As in, their names and logos in their usual spots, but I wonder if they will do all the media timeout promotions? On that one, I'm guessing SIU has some kind of deal worked out with those sponsors for this "extra game." On the other hand, it really screws Murray and their sponsorships - do they get a slice of the pie refunded back to them? just stuff I think about from a business standpoint in all this.
*in his David Puddy voice* YOU STINK, FERGUSON! WE'RE GONNA GET YOU, FERGUSON!!"
@uncledawgpound I also wonder about the ticket and concession income. They said $5 cash at the door, but there won’t hardly be any tickets sold for this I would think. I bet this has more of a neutral court feel than a home game, even though it is being played here. I’d love to go, but not sure I can make it.
