The Valley needs to do more to get Murray State and Belmont to jump from the OVC. Both of those schools would be nice additions.
As for attendance at the MVC Tournament, the MVC really needs, SIU, Missouri State, UNI, Illinois State, and Bradley to have great seasons in order to get the maximum turn out possible. Loyola, Valpo, Evansville, and Drake fans just don't turn out the way the MVC needs them to.
If you're gonna reply to me in the forums, please quote what I wrote that you're replying to so I have a clue...thanks! 😀
Amen to Murray State and Belmont added to MVC. A great 12 team schedule would be good for all.
I know Loyola had that great Final Four run, but I'm still not sold that they or Valpo were great additions. They just don't have the facilities, nor (and more importantly) do they generate substantial enough fanfare to really attract the kind of attention and respect the MVC wants and needs.
Illinois State and Missouri State need to be good too.

There is zero need to add any more teams. All that means is splitting NCAA money 2 more times. Ruins the round robin schedule. I watched the Horizon semi final last night. There were like 300 people there maybe. The MVC is fine as stands. Now if you wanted to replace a team Murray or Belmont is fine. Not much of a media market though
Loyola needs to stay! Gives the Valley a presence in the largest city in the midwest. Mullins can tell kids you will play in Chicago at least 4 times while you are at Southern.

Good market with Belmont...Nashville.
Harry of Valley Hoops Insider interviewed Doug Elgin this weekend and Elgin seemed open to expansion

Amen. As far as replacing, I would vote for Belmont over the Murray Thugs. And I don’t use that term loosely. I still remember us refusing to play them in football, and the last SIU game I had to witness with Barry Hinson at the helm was the debacle at the Arena last season, when Morant and company lit us up, and the Murray players were throwing hand signals at the Dawg Pound as they went to locker room at halftime. Real classy. Must have been okay with their coach though.

Of course they belong. But they won't be there--not a chance.

Yep. $$$
What a bunch of crap! I'm at a point where I don't care if the BIG MONEY conferences split off and do their own thing. It would ruin the NCAA Tournament in my eyes, but this isn't about being fare, it's about cash. Go play with yourselves big boys....
Over on mvcfans a few weeks ago, someone (probably a UNI fan) did an analysis of the various metrics. Bear in mind this was before the UNI debacle at March Madness.
Basically, the poster looked at UNI's numbers from more traditional metrics (RPI and various sites based on that, such as KenPomm), and sure enough those numbers were very favorable to UNI getting a bid. And by that I mean it would have been such a travesty for them not to get a bid that the powers that be would not have dared not to. Seriously, it was that bad. And at the same time, such numbers would have meant P5 conferences getting fewer bids.
In this particular case, I think the guy was looking at the Big 10 (or whatever the F it is now). Guess what? Under they old system, UNI and teams like them would likely be in, and the Big 10 would have "only" five teams in. Now? UNI and it's ilk are out on the cold, and middling Big 10 teams are in, all because of the NET.
Disgusting.

I somewhat agree with you here but to be fair those middle of the pack Big teams would likely put a beating on UNI. Now anybody in the Big 12 besides the top 2 and the entire PAC 12 is another story
Belmont isn't interested and Murray is just another mouth to feed. Murray might fill some seats in STL, but they don't offer much else.
