I guess we finish tied for 3rd with MoSt.
Loyola 12 - 6
Drake 12 - 6
SIU 10 - 8
Mo. St. 10 - 8
Bradley 9 - 9
N. Iowa 9 - 9
Ill. St. 9 - 9
Ind. St 7 - 11
Valpo 7 - 11
Evansville 5 - 13
SIU is a #3 seed in MVC tournament. Play N. Iowa who they beat twice this year.
Can’t ask for a much better draw - UNI is a sub-.500, relatively young team without much interior presence, and on the opposite side of the bracket from Loyola.
The table is set for a weekend of Hucky drama.

favorable draw... I see Illinois State beating Drake... If SIU can beat UNI it sets up a rematch of last year. Maybe this time will be different, who knows?

At this point, I’m going to buy the bodies of work and DeVries’ coaching chops ... I think all roads to making the final go through mighty Drake.
Drake's D.J. Wilkins is out for the season with a broken bone in his left ankle. Wilkins averaged 11 points and led the team in assists. Tough loss for the Bulldogs.

Between Wilkins and the earlier loss of Norton, Drake is arguably missing its top two guards, or at a minimum two of its top three guards. Southern's side of the bracket is absolutely begging to be had. No excuses not to make the final, at a minimum.
On a side note, I feel really bad for Drake. They're the only team in the MVC that actually deserves to be in the NCAAs this year based on what they've accomplished, not to mention the adversity they've overcome.
Feel bad for The Drake. That program has been through a lot in the last 12 months and still won the Valley out from under the Dean. Those are the breaks though.
Craving a McBride Special!

Never been a big fan of Drake but kind of pulling for them to win the Valley this year, like you said, they are the most deserving team in the valley this year. I'd like to see Drake beat Loyola in a triple-OT and both schools go to the Tournament (not likely we'll have two.....)
Go Dawgs!
Time to cue up the Greg Lansing watch.

A shame but probably right. I like Lansing. However, Dan Muller ought to be in just as deep of trouble, if for no other reason than playing on Thursday with the talent that he has. And finishing lower than a Hinson team.
