Murray State goes to Memphis and wins
Give up on Murray. Unless they find a home for football it is not happening. I am becoming more convinced it will be UIC and that’s it for now.

but, but, but murrey college beat memphis! 😆

I’d kill to be Murray State. SIU hasn’t won anything in 13 years going on 14 now.
Don't want to keep harping on Murray, but they scored
118 tonight against NAIA school Tennessee Wesleyan.
118 - 48. Guess the Methodists had an off night! LOL
(they lost their previous game to Tenn-Chatt 104 - 55)
Signing the 4 Dakota schools would solve a lot of problems.

and these upcoming D-2 games are embarrassing and a Jack move on Saluki fans hard-earned money.
Nobody wants to watch that bullsh*t.
I would say this is the biggest advantage to expansion. 2 expansion teams = 4 more conference games = no regular season games against D2s.
Don't see any reason to bring in more than 2, though.
There was no excuse for those games to begin with.
Mid majors whine about teams not wanting to play them but refuse to schedule home and homes with similar programs.
Cry me a river.
I agree, but scheduling at the time you need a game isn't always easy. I can't imagine why we're playing Missouri Baptist and Maryville and actually charging admission. What's next, Ohio Dominican?
i recall our last sweet 16 team playing quincy, henderson and wash u. i think i had to pay for those tickets, too. two D2s and a D3. i don't care much for it myself, but let's not pretend it will change. hell, i remember we played william jewel during our 1977 sweet 16. trust in mullins and quit doubting his strategy.
If it was Barbeque scheduling this, would you feel the same?? LOL
i would probably be excited about it because we would stand a 50/50 chance to actually win a game. speaking of scheduling did anyone see the juggernaut murrey college had on the books? I guess that's ok though because they won a couple of tournament games in the past 50 years.
Craving a McBride Special!

not expanding at all would solve a lot more. 😆

sorry but I set my sights a little higher in life but thats your right. the missouri valley has no responsibility to throw life to one of the last rats off a sinking ovc ship. no one else wants them so they don't seem to be as valuable as some of you think.

Murray State's flaw is their market size and football program. I think most mid-majors in the market for a public school would take Murray State for their basketball program. SIU is lucky they're a long-time member of the Missouri Valley because there's no way they'd be added in 2021 with the combination of their market size, declining enrollment, and sub-par basketball the last decade.
I will try this again
Murray State would join the MVC tomorrow if they could. There was a vote they were denied by football. Unless they find a home for football they will not be joining. Even without football it is not likely they get the 75% needed.I don’t see why that is so hard to understand ?
I would grab Murray State even if it means bringing in their football program. They're basketball program has been solid for years and would be a great get for the MVC. The MVC is foolish if they're not brining on Murray State due to their football program. The MVC is a basketball first conference. Always has been and always will be. UT-Arlington, UMKC, and/or UW-Milwaukee puts the MVC in larger markets, but there's little interest in those programs within their markets and none of them make the MVC more competitive. Still seems like a no brainier.

Why ? I just looked at their history. Since 2000 they have had 3 years where they might have gotten an at large. I’m not sure playing in the MVC they would not have lost more and not even gotten them then. It’s nothing more than another mouth to feed

We're playing a couple of powerhouses in Maryville and Missouri Baptist. That Memphis team Murray just beat at Memphis? They just beat #6 Alabama by 14.
Speaking of scheduling, did anyone notice the NCAA's latest Strength of Schedule rankings?
Murray State 154
SIU 198
😮
So ?
again if they are not getting an at large it is nothing more than a money drain. They will Add UIC and hold off adding anybody else unless somebody else leaves
