I do not wish any ill will for ANY MVC team, but Missouri State just lost Dixon and Cooper. This hurts them !!
Not so sure about that.
Considering all the hype about MO State going into last season, they drastically underachieved. Didn't see enough of their games to know what happened. Some of it may have been due to injuries, but I also have to believe the guys on that team just never jelled and didn't play together as a team. Ford needs to re-evaluate his roster and fix it for next season.
Exactly !!! That is another inherent problem with bringing in a large number of new people. This is why I am concerned with the current situation with SIU.

What I saw of Missouri State last season was a lack of a controlled offensive approach. They did not have a true point guard, a guy to run and control the flow of their offense.
I believe they are bringing in a highly touted and talented young PG for next season. If this guy is even half of what they believe he'll be, Missouri State might be the juggernaut that was predicted last season, this coming season. Just my opinion though.

IT IS YEAR TWO of a dumpster fire rebuild. Chill out

BK, I respect you immensely. I will not apologize, however, for wanting more, nor do I want to wait 3-5 years for it. I expect progress each season and right now having a better season next year than this past is, at the very least, in jeopardy.
I will wait patiently, however, to see what the recruiting process brings in. Hopefully the staff has a few aces up their sleeves.

Fair enough
I agree, I do not like the idea of taking a step back next year given the good start this new regime was off to... There are a lot of good teams with very little turnover in the league coming back and we now have to rebuild the whole roster again.
It doesn't matter what someone "wants" ....Mullins inherited as BK says a dumpster fire . It generally takes three-four years to get a program going, we may not like that but that's just the way it is. Just because year two could possibly be a step back record wise does not mean its a step back program wise. If you add 6 six guys and four of them stay the following year then you now have 10-11 guys that are solid....Your third year, you add an additional 2-4 recruits then the future can be solidified. In my view records don't really begin to matter until year three. Once we hit that marker then I think the clock starts. Realize some are impatient but to build a solid foundation takes time. My 2 cents worth.
do you like the job brian wardle has done at bradley? because it took him 5 years to have a winning record in the league.
it took bryan 1.
I get both sides of this discussion. Mullins did a very, very good job in Year 1 with little to work with. It does generally take a few years to get a program rolling. On the other hand, SIU last made the postseason 12 years ago and the university urgently needs to make a positive splash of some sort, so patience is hard to come by ... I get that, too.
I'm not thrilled about the flurry of defections (particularly Cook and to a lesser extent Francois), but I do think the Domask-Jones sophomore combo is a great starting point for success, and a few of the newcomers seem promising, as well. We'll know a lot more in the next 4-6 weeks, based on how this recruiting cycle goes and if they can bring in enough size and depth to realistically expect a step forward.
I don't think people are impatient. It's just having 6 spots to fill for the 2nd year in a row makes people uneasy. At the very least, these next 2 months will be interesting to follow and a much needed distraction.

Mic drop!
Why do some of you think the program is going to take a step back? We lost no one who contributed to the success of the team last year except McGill and Benson (both due to graduation). We gain Harvey, and Bryan has several scholarship spots to work with. You don’t think he can find a couple bigs, some players to fill the bench and develop as future pieces? Be patient...

I think there's a shot. First off, the Valley is going to be much improved this year. I think Bradley is the only school right now that's really lost a ton of talent to graduation. I think there's a shot SIU is picked to finish 8th this year ahead of Illinois State and Evansville, which I guess is an improvement over being picked 10th. That being said, lot of offseason left.
I don't think we'll be taking a step backward. Yes, we lose McGill, Benson, Suggs, & a few role players. But we add Ben Harvey, Dalton Banks, & Eric Butler. We also get Dembele back. We are actively recruiting a lot of very good players who I'm guessing are BETTER than the ones who transferred. We are also in on some Big Men who could have equal or greater impact than Benson. If we get TWO of them, that gives us much better front court depth than last season. Relax and let's see what happens.

It's still too early to tell considering we have 6 spots to fill. I think there's going to be a decline more because the Valley is going to much improved than them taking a step backward.
