Drake is deservedly the runaway favorite and should have an excellent year. That said, their injury woes never seem to go away, and if I were a Drake fan, I'd be fairly alarmed that Penn appears to be having more foot issues leading up to the season when he supposedly was coming back healthy. Their depth at PG behind Penn is a question mark: I think next man up is a redshirt freshman, Conor Enright, who was an Illinois Wolves kid BTW.
Bradley and SIU are in pretty similar boats with solid cores of returnees and enough promising newcomers where they should take steps forward in a league that otherwise has a lot of roster turnover. I wouldn't mind them deciding who should have been slotted #2 on the first Saturday of March.
Northern Iowa is too high for me (even before the Phyfe news, I know they voted before) and Murray State is too low. Murray State is about the same as Missouri State for me. Huge roster turnovers and a lot of uncertainty. Wouldn’t surprise me if one of those teams beats expectations and ends up in the Bradley/SIU tier.
A winning percentage of 37% at Iowa State is not exactly a ringing endorsement for Prohm.

When's the last year we nabbed a first place vote?
Had 4 first place votes in Hinson's last year. Also the last time SIU had a KenPom ranking under 100 (started the year #86 and ended #146).
I was looking at that team the other day trying to figure out the last time SIU had a sub-100 KenPom and forgot how highly regarded that team was. Was easy to forget because none of us that actually followed the team were that excited.
That was the only year in many many years that I haven't had season tickets. I didn't attend one game that year.
