Good to see so many people posting tonight, too! What a fun night!
So wait
SIU has a huge huge win.
in his presser Bryan did not take any credit. He apologized for what the team did wrong and took full responsibility ?
breath of fresh air
Incredible win!! Let's get road win #1 next!!

And didn't go on about how it was the greatest win ever. Even though it is certainly the biggest win for SIU in years.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Mullins now has the same number of wins vs. top 50 (or 25) RPI teams as Hinson in his SIU career.

It is so refreshing to see the team step up in a big game at home against a great team. This team feels like they can beat anyone at home.
Good thing Brown is a good shooter cause his defense is brutal. Green just drove by him.
You’ve got to be kidding, Brown held Green to 2 points in the first half.
I agree he's not the quickest guy out there, but he's been pretty good on D - and was very good tonight. A lot of D is technique and really hard work. Not a player in the world that hasn't had an opponent drive by them once in a while. And AJ Green is a darn good player.
I thought Jones and Domask also played good D tonight. 5 steals between them
That's a tough spot to be in guarding uni best player up 1 on final possession. He cant foul, kept him from getting to the basket and gave up a contested 12 footer from the baseline. I can live with that. I'm just soooooo glad green missed!, lol
You could see the weight come off of Brown's shoulders when he hit that first 3 - amazing to see. So much more confidence in the second and third shots that he had. If he can become a high 30's% 3-pt shooter and defensive stopper, then we are darn lucky. Go Dawgs!
Jones really needs to stop driving wildly and throwing the ball up at the rim hoping it goes in. The Dawgs need to get the ball down low.
This may be over before half.
Seriously? He's one of the big reasons we won! That last little drive/shot with 20 secs left was huge!
Yes seriously !!! Absolutely NO DOUBT he was the Player of the Game, but he is not a good FT shooter so you keep the ball away from him in those situations. This is not a knock at all with regards to the rest of his game. If only for one game, his 3pt shot looks much better and he has been turning the ball over a lot less. Trust me, I'm a big fan of his. But that does not change the fact that he struggles, especially last night, from the FT line and situationally the team should have been cognizant of that IMO.
That was so much fun! I was alternately yelling and moaning, but it was a great roller coaster ride. I'm also so happy for Trent Brown that he finally got that monkey off his back.
I just noticed in the post-game with Mullins that he says Brown was guarding Ben Harvey in practice in preparation for AJ Green. That is very cool--it says a lot about Harvey that he is good enough to be an AJ Green stand-in.

When Reis was interviewing Cook earlier, he asked about next year and he specially mentioned Harvey and how good he and Domask will be together on the wings. It was just then when Harvey drained a 30' and Cook said those are things that kid can do. So excited about next season.
I haven't been this excited about the program since spring of 2007. Mullins is for real, as are the newcomers he's brought into the program even in such short time. Domask, Jones, and Brown all contributing major minutes as freshman in the biggest game of year. Super psyched for this program!

So glad the Little Huckster era is over and the BMull era has begun!!!!
How 'Bout Them Dawgs! Mullins had the team focused from the start, shots were falling, and the crowd was into it! If SIU can land a couple of solid post players for next season, we may have something special brewing. GO DAWGS!

Except they were pressing and he is probably our best ball handler! He has to have the ball in that situation. Not a single TO in 38 minutes at PG is great. He's shooting 59% - not very good but about exactly what Aaron Cook was shooting before the injury. Jones was worse yesterday - especially late. Might have had something to do with fatigue..38/40 minutes for both Jones and Domask. Harder to shoot when you're pooped! I think his technique at the line could be better - needs to relax, take a few more breaths, say OM! Needs to work on it for sure. (That one foul should have been McGill at the line but ref ignored a bear hug by UNI. )
(Cook was also never a great FT shooter, especially late in games. I can remember numerous games where he missed critical FTs, especially late in games .)
In his post game interview, LJ wasn't surprised at his 3pt shooting - says he just needs to shoot with confidence. BM also said he has a good shot - just needs confidence - and that they work on it every day and LJ works on it on his own.
